I really like it, especially the gold on dark works well for this. I can't think of anything bad to say!

The only thing I could suggest is scaling it down just a bit so his elbows can bee seen. Nice work.
Mine is up for scoring, please rate and comment: http://www.threadless.com/submission/283981/LOVE_AT_FIRST_SPLAT |

All around really sleek, nifty design. Submit, I say!
I've got a new design up for critique, if you wouldn't mind dropping a word! http://www.threadless.com/critique/71798/For_The_Union |

Very nice, sleek design. I can't say that I would personally wear it to be honest, but I can definitely say that there are others that would. Submit, I say!

I don't get why people want to see the elbows. It will make the design so much smaller on the shirt and extremely small on the girl size shirts. If the shirt above represents a typical men's medium, then on the guys XXL you'd see the elbows on the same size print.
|
|
Manistraspomama on Jul 08 '10
I don't think it will be too small and the elbows would complete the image. It may seem smaller on the screen, but I don't see how it could be too small once printed on the shirt. Bottom line, it's your design so you should do what you want. We are just trying to help.
|
|
I guess I should ask the question:
Which is more important? A. Size of the illustration print on the shirt. B. Showing the Entire illustration. |
|
it bugs me that I can't see the elbows, but I like the image's size on the shirt. Would you consider bringing the angle of the arms down a little, so that the elbows will fit and the size can stay the same?
|
|
I think the angle of the arms is pretty well stuck where it is at this point. I'd have to redraw the arms to make it work like that. I'll try and post a version showing the size of the design with the elbows showing. I'm tracking down a girl's shirt flat template now so I can demo up both guy's and girl's versions.

I feel its a little to large on the tee. Maybe dont show all of the content in the image so you can keep the scale
Im up for scoring, please help http://www.threadless.com/submission/283822/Pimp_My_Caterpillar |

Oh, this is awesome. I love it.
I think it should be scaled down just a touch, though. The fact that his elbows disappear off the tshirt bugs me just a teensy bit. Beyond that, though, looks great. You mind critiquing mine, i fyou have the time? http://www.threadless.com/critique/71791/Unicornasaurus_Rex |

I like the composition and the gold on black...are you going to add anymore tattoos?
|
|
are you going to add anymore tattoos?
should I? I was worried about attempting full sleeve tattoos. I don't have a lot of experience with tattoos so... |

This is so nice! I think the detail is perfect on it. It's deffs ready for submission! Well done. Sorry I can' think of anything you could change on it, but thats a good thing.
Any ideas for my design? |
|
Decided to demo it up on a guy's and girl's sized shirt next to one another and show the 2 options for art placement.
Option A has the full art within the shirt frame and Option B has the full bleed out art that cuts off the elbows. So... A or B? |
|
I like this, but am I supposed to get it?
|
|
if you like it, then you already get it.
it's sort of Egyptian, art and stuff... |

definitely A.
also, i don't think it's necessary for you to show girls and guys sizes. also, why does it say "unwanted sequels" in the background? but cool design. have you considered accenting it with another color? maybe a white or a soft, faded red or blue? http://www.threadless.com/critique/71830/Laser_Bear |

yes this is awesome i love egyptian stuff and I like A.
if you get a chance critique my design please http://www.threadless.com/critique/71832/Rrrecycling |
|
ok so now that A is the leading option it looks like I don't need to worry about keeping it 1 color. I don't think I'll go crazy and add a ton of extra colors but I might try adding at least one to see what happens.
Unwanted Sequels is a community design challenge. I forgot to repost the link to the blog about it when I posted v2. |

coffeecandle on Jul 08 '10
I'd go for A as well. I think in the final presentation you could probably show both this design and the multicolour one, if you decide it works that way. I saw it before without the tattoos on teh arms and it's definately better this way btw :)
|
|
good idea cc, thanks for the feedback.
I'm going to step back from it for a day or two and see what hits me when I come back to it. Going to get some sleep and stuff. |
|
Really like A as well, I think this looks great!

I'll probably look to make a Flash Presentation with a detail view of the art if I have time before the 29th when I need to submit this.
Is there anything more I could do or add to this design to make it better? |

i like the illustration a lot!
very nice! i think the head stripe thingy, should go all around the head, even between the mask's ears...it feels too empty over there as is:) Please score my design: African Mirage and if you have the time, tell me what you think about this design: Lets settle this! :) |

Nice work, love the detail in the line work, My only comment would be make the mask slightly bigger, to match the guys head size. Maybe the snout and ears could be a bit bigger again also, longer! Great image, especially for a single colour print. Best of luck:)
If you get a chance pls CHECK mine out :) |
|
yeah, the mask could be a touch bigger, but otherwise I think this is ready to sub
|
|
thanks. This is the 4th time someone has said make the mask bigger. :\
it's not an easy task because of how the illustration was built. I even used a reference photo that I took of myself in a mirror holding a full size paper version of the mask. It wasn't a very big mask to start with and I guess I have a small head. I'll give it a shot once I finish up my technoCRAFT design tonight. |

I'm usually not a fan of designs just placed in the middle, but this is one where it actually works. Great job. Check my design out please.

ibeenthere on Jul 28 '10
lol well, i didn't say it should be bigger, just that it should be visiable over the head...i studied egyptian art and pharoe "fashion" this year at college...and from what i remember the "hat" around the mask, is visibale over the head as well:)
let me know what you think of this: Comic Con-g Thanks!:) |
