simplify the sand (looks like a noise filter, get rid of it) use the halftone effect around the blanket instead for the sand.

I agree with what everyone else said, and "Fry Day Afternoon" is a perfect title. Just go with their advice and you'll have a great shirt.

It's just personal taste for me, but I like middle upper chest area for placement

the reason i used lower placement was so I could put the sun where it is. I disn't want a cramped design area

I hear ya, but I think it could still work if you started the sun at the middle of the thought bubble. It would make the design nice and compact.

I don't like the sand either. I think that there is far too much of it. I think that it would be just as effective it it were implied here and there instead of making the shirt look like a two-tone el camino. No offense meant, as I like el caminos, but that was my first thought.

I think i's just the sand, and the sun in kinda wackattatck

agreed, the sand should be restricted to only part of the bottom of the shirt, instead of making it look like you dyed the entire lower half.

Sand is not working, it looks like he is sitting on someones unshaven face, but you already knew that. It's a good concept. As I said before use the halftones sparingly as sand around the blanket. Move the placement in the center of the shirt placing the sun right above the potato so you have a nice compact composition.
