Maybe a tad more muffin width, and a tad less width at the top of the tree stem? To make it slightly more tree shaped.

if we make it more complex then it won't fit the minimalism theme or does it even fit that theme as it is now?

How about the crust bits on top leaf shaped. No adding clutter, only adjustmends seems the way to go if we want to go the mimimal road.

oh I like the idea of making the "chips" into leaf shapes. It was a chocolate chip muffin if you didn't notice.

I think the "tree" aspect could stand to be fleshed out a little more; maybe a little thinner, more branches. A mighty fine concept.

I wish I had a muffin tree;) Love the concept, however, it doesn't quite resemble a tree at the moment. I'd like it to look a bit more textural.
