Oh, this makes me giddy! In a good way.
I love the title and I love the idea. One suggestion: there are a lot of light blue tees floating around out there, so try a diffrent color.
Alright, I lied. One more: I bet it would look great bigger. You should show a model with this design on that fills most of the front of the shirt.

I agree, more escalators and some interesting figures riding them. They don't have to be humans, necessarily. Also, add in some detail to the blank walls, just to give it some texture. The walls feel kind of bare and wasted. Escher used a sort of cross-hatching on his walls.

Figures, definitely, to be more like Escher. Add detail to the walls, even just slight, to be more like his everything-covered-in-lines technique/style.

It might be funny to have one guy falling off the "upside-down" escalator.

if you added a little more like the people as others have said, i would definitely be one to buy this shirt

Human silhouette to make the illusion things work ;)

must have people! maybe also falling people, and terrified people trying to hold onto an escalator that has suddenly gone turvy without any warning, and people trying to hold onto their legs - in short, what this picture needs is some elegant catastrophe.

what if you add more details that also allude to the works of Escher?
they are rather intricate in the floors and walls (i think)... that will strengthen the concept.
also, i say you close the design, the fading at the bottom draws away from the intent, i think.
