My rendition of this one part of Life of Pi. The narrator talks about this mouse which, for some reason, was not eaten by snakes when it was fed to them at the zoo.

My personal taste is that it's too detailed - well the details is ok, nut i need something that's big as well - to get some kind of contrast! Bigger snake or bigger mouse. Just a suggestion. And maybe some more action! Is the mouse just about to be eaten by the snake or are they just good friends?

Well my take on this design derives from the concept of zoomorphism (inspired by the book Life of Pi)...when two animals that normally don't get along, do, because in a way they take each other to be of their own species.



The snake confronts the mouse with its "lonely, crude reality of a reptile" and the odd mouse offers friendship (while its companions run away as mice should). An explaination for odd documented cases such as this one.



Maybe personified zoomorphism on a T-shirt is a bit much...any thoughts?

Been tweaking the colors...I worked with purple to challenge myself and perhaps fill in the lack of new purple Threadless tees (for both men AND women!), but the blue and brown versions are on Fliker.

The design's dominated by the snake and the graphics it coils around, but the snake is pretty bland in comparison to its surroundings, IMO.

Hm...actually that was what I was going for (kind of afraid it the whole thing would get too busy, I just wanted the snake to connect everything) but I'll see what I can do. Maybe brighter scales?

I say its worth a sub, its got a concept and style... leave it up to the voters.

What if it was on a sage background?

I think the snake would show up better?

Also, I had a bit of trouble deciphering the words...especially

"I was born during ADROUGHT"...the last 2 words kind of jumbled together maybe if the A was an a?

And what is that on the mouse?

and the tail looks wonky to me ..

So, upcomming changes: I guess I'll add some highlights in the scales, maybe play with the lightness of the snake, add a sage background version, fix the lettering and mouse tail...anything else?



I'll be working on it this weekend. =) Hopefully I'll have a satisfactory version up soon, before I leave my tablet behind when I go home.

So...CHANGES! (don't mind V3 or V4, those got messed up)



- lighter, brighter snake

- highlights in snake scales

- different placement (people don't have to snoop under your smelly, sweaty underarm for details! yay)

- redid wording

- un-wonk-ified the mice tail



Oh and the small mouse on the sleeve says "Eek" in its tail.



I'll put up updated detailed pics on the Fliker soon (see V1 for link) as well as even more color options, including one for a slate shirt.

You mean just the ones on the sleeve? As far as I know they're kind of all the same size...and I added slight differences to their running plane to make it look like they're in motion...but I'll try it out to see what that looks like.

^^ Thanks! I'm testing a lot of different things, though I'm not putting all of these versions on display (at least not yet) because 1) some require a lot of modifications to match the suggestions, and 2) my computer at the moment isn't too...trustworthy...right now. Blue screen and all.

You can use a color-replace function in your editing program, right? Just grab a white t-shirt model or something and change it to purple.
