This is my first go at using the critique tool; I thought i'd see how it goes and try designing a tee live -ish.



I'll start with this sketch I did. It's pretty basic.



The concept:

A naughty young fellow has been hitting birds with rocks using his slingshot (don't you just hate that?). With a comeuppance suited to the crime he has been struck down by a meteor (possibly by the almighty).



Title:

At the moment I'm running with "do as you're done by" because it fits (plus it was my primary schools motto!). However, I think there might be a pun like 'meteor match' (meet your match) on the cards... What you think?

it could be a good concept, your sketch is really hard to see though, so work on it and post one with more to it!

Yep colourcraze I think it was a bit too vague, heres the sketch I've just finished off.

Hopefully I can zip through and get it more polished for people to crit on. :)

Inked the sketch and added in a landscape/ background to make it more of a scene.

Not sure how to go about the flames/smoke coming off the meteors, don't want it looking like a camp fire on top of him! maybe I'll make it more directional...

added in the directional flames/ smoke aswell as the slingshot in the sky (I think i'll try and make this more cloud like).

I'm thinking this is pretty much the final version now.

Added thunderous clouds and introduced colour.

Haha! This is so good!! The only nitpicky thing I have is that the 'comforting' bird's wing is a little rigid looking. But then again, even if you don't fix that, this thing will still be hilarious and I will still want it to print :) awesome job!

Any ideas on placement yet? :o

And if you're not too busy, I would sure appreciate if you voted and commented on my design!

Cheers for the comment! You're right, the wing is a bit too rigid; I'm going to curve it off a little. Just enough to make it less tense.

I think the placement will be so the branch lines up with the bottom left rib with the clouds/ godly slingshot centred on the upper chest.

I think this might be it.

-Darkened the brown of the branch shadow to make it more prominant.

-Enhanced the red of the birds so they have that extra lift.

-corrected the wing so it has a subtle curve which is friendlier.

-Added the placement for the design.



Just need to mull over the title and see if I need to tweak anything. I'll sleep on it and see if anything sticks out in the morning.



There's nothing like being snowed in to kick off the creative juices!

If u could do something for the hand it would be nice.

the hand is too hidden by the clouds, which actually at first glance looked like a bunch of really big bushes. i think if you make the clouds look more like clouds, is should be fine. just make sure that the clouds and ground don't look too alike
