it might be interesting to have other types of guns as part of it or some kind of variety, although that's probably a whole other project

I thought about the use of other guns, also about not having them all face upwards.. I actually have many ideas about layouts and patterns, a few of which I will present in versions to come. As far as it being another project, I am very careful to preserve as many layers and various saves as possible so that I can easily alter any of my designs..



If I get enough feedback requesting more gun types, I'll look into it, however, for this particular design, I would prefer to stick with only this model and work with placement, direction, and coloring schemes.

I have to disagree… I like it much more on white! Letīs say itīs "fresher and funkier"… I even think it could become better, when itīs a little washed out (but i wouldnīt add any washed-out-effect to the print).

I see it as a main part of the joke, that the guns are light-colored on a light-colored shirt.



You could try the rainbow-colors, but I think the chosen ones are already something like todayīs "fashion-rainbow-colors" …;-)



I wouldnīt use different guns, because that would destroy the "andy-warhol-effect". Maybe youīll find a solution with the amunition, that keeps Andy Warhol in place.



So, I like the colors, I like the placement… BUT:

Remove the shoulder-belts! Especially in the small picture, they make it hard to recognize the AKs.

I was seriously thinking about, if there should be any second picture, if you see the AK and the belt as one piece. One of these illusion-drawings, that can be two pictures at the same time (e.g. a girl or a skull).



So, if there really is a second picture, I didnīt get it.

If there is none, iīd remove the belts and the AKs were much clearer!

also on my design there is a hidden image in the moon. it is a wolf howling at the very bottom of it :) the big part is just a part of the moon though, but thanks for the help.

Personaly, im not in to guns that much, but i would prefer the black one over the white one for contrast. you could put the guns in a rack and add in bullets some where along the lines

Yes, I can understand that to different people guns may invoke very different feeling.. and understand that when critiquing that may be hard to get past, but for the sake of improvement of the design, I do appreciate all feedback regarding how to make it better.. guns included :P

i think it stands out better on the black tee.

If you take a look at V1 and compare it with the colors of the guns in V2, which do you prefer?

I like the black version better as well. I can't say I like the way the guns are so grainy, I would try and smooth them out with gradients or something, and I don't really see what the theme of the shirt is other than "a bunch of guns in a line" maybe if you changed one of the guns to something else like a grenade it would make the shirt more interesting. Not ragging on your design, that's just my opinion.

yeah i'm afraid i agree. first of all, also not a big gun fan. i have a feeling the threadless crowd is mostly made up of people that dont like rockin gun shirts, at least not ones without some kind of clever irony or humor or something involved.



but i can get past that for the sake of the design. like above post i dont think theres much going on here besides a bunch of guns in a line. maybe if the guns did more of a diamond pattern and like a step and repeat thing (think lois vettan however you spell it) that could be cool. it has been done though.



that being said, i like the colors in v2 but the smaller placement in v1. and black.

Maybe place 2 guns toghether and make them love each other ;D

bummer, I see that I have been quite unclear with this latest version!



The close up of the guns is not to see the pattern, but to help you pick color schemes..



And the guns are so grainy because, as I mentioned, I couldn't fit 4 slides into a post without dropping the resolution, the original images are however high-resolution..



I must say the combination of my lack of clarity on what I was looking for with the critiquing of this version, as well as the poor resolution could, in part explain the poor reaction (aside from the fact that a lot of people don't like guns).



Oh Threadians,

If only you were all wicked-sweet snowboarders who loved to shred, and had an appreciation for the desmasculinization of the association with weapons, you would surely see the appeal of this design. :(



But, I guess boarder-culture is probably not where most of you hail from, and further, making guns seem less doom-n-gloom (as done with the fun colors) is probably promoting something most of you appear to be against.



What a shame.. Alas it appears as though this design will need some serious working before it will fly.. back to the drawing board.



..but before I go, I still need more advice on the colors of the guns!!! Pick your three favorite one plz!!

Due to a lot of negative reaction at the sight of guns, despite the use of fun colors (which I had hoped would reduce such reaction) I feel it is necessary to push the design in a new direction..



So, tell me what you think about this design layout?

I really like the direction you went in, and in regards to the more circular thing...I definitely agree, so maybe you could use bullets, or handguns or something to get that more circular effect. Its going to be hard with just the same sized rifle

ehh, i like version 1 the best. dont take this the wrong way, but i just feel like its not very original, in version 3, i mean. but i do like like version 1. if i saw it at walmart, id probably steal it. : )

The colours hurt my eyes! I'm probably the only one, though! It'd be worth trying to find out if the guns-as-peace-symbol idea has been done in any significant way before, but if it hasn't then you might as well be the one to carry it through!

That is an interesting approach, it is better but I think a two-tone back ground may serve you better. The guns are also quite detailed, it may pay to some how take out excess lines, like having the magazines on containing two or so lines rather than four.

I have deleted all areas surrounding the inner-parts of the peace sign, and none of the outer circle, let me know if you think I should leave it undeleted, or if it would enhance it to delete around the circle..

maybe make the secondary guns black or grey, and the ones from the peace sign in color. But it has improved a lot i really like it now. I don't really understand what you mean by your comment, I only see one frame here, maybe it didn't upload correctly. But youre definately on the right path! Nice.

thanks for the comment on mine. I would maybe try and have a go at hand drawing or vector drawing the gun. It will give you a cleaner look. like the idea though and its been developed well

I can see your idea here. Interesting.

It's kind of hard to see the individual guns on a white background. They kind of blur in with the white. I would vote for black instead.

I would personally go for the black shirt with big, spread out guns in v2. I find that pattern the most interesting.

But stick this one on a placement and see what it looks like. It's hard to imagine right now.

I am working on making a contrast between the back and foregrounds.. And as for the second slide, perhaps you didn't wait long enough, it changes every 5 secs.. at least it does on my browser..

I agree that the back and foregrounds blur.. I am working on that as well as a black version...

And yes, V2 does have its own appeal, perhaps I will revisit that idea as well.. and no, not too blunt at all

I like the black much better. This is really busy, especially for a t shirt, I would loose the guns in the back and stick with just the peace sign. I think that would be more powerful.

Definitely the black! I'm leaning towards the single guns in the background (as opposed to the married ones!). The mirrored green gun in the centre of the peace symbol doesn't quite work for me; can it be one gun or is there not enough colour when you do that? Overall it's really going places, and I like it much better than the previous versions.

In V6 the options changed gun colors in slide one, and in slide two the idea of the middle two gunz being butt to butt..



In V7 the options changed to the middle two gunz being nose to nose, and color options again..

I think I like the ones with a thin circle around them. Not too in love with the double gun inside it. The 3-colour inside from v7 looks good to me.

Hey MR Productions, sorry i haven't had a chance to get back to you but my comp broke so i couldn't help you with the updating on your design.... though you've really really done a good job, i think the small peace sign is the most effective. i also really like the irony.
