It looks very cool. Maybe it's just me, but I don't understand it! The art is great though. I don't have an suggestions besides - is there some way the meaning can be made clearer?
can you please score mine? |
JP_designer on Nov 24 '09
I'm not sure i understand it. What is the white circle on the ground? I like the space idea but .. ooooh is it the earth? no. sorry i dont really get it. i think it'll be cooler if you can clarify it through your art.
Could you Check out my design please? |
stevencorey on Nov 24 '09
What is the circle on the ground for?
mpeon on Nov 24 '09

mpeon on Nov 24 '09
mmmhhh... is it too hard to get it?, any help here?
The earth someday will die, then, somebody has to clean the mess right? |
yea I didnt get it.
helloyonda on Nov 24 '09
fill in a little bit more of the earth so you can really tell that's what it is, like a little more of the water so it outlines a couple continents.
mine needs help ! |
mpeon on Nov 24 '09
thanks guys,
the circule is kind of the line that the police draw in the flor, (when somebody die). The blue color (water) is suposed to be the blood, mmmmhhh.... I'm lost, I dont know what to do here, |
mpeon on Nov 24 '09
I wanted simple, but... I think this one, looks better,
any comments? Gracias seņor@s! |
The corpse outline was a good idea but I would never have guessed what it was; this pic says "Earth" a lot better in some weird way. When I look at it I can't describe quite what's happening, but it generates thought rather than just making me go "Huh?" like the first one did. I like the overall look of the design, especially on blue. Would it be better mid-sized on the tee rather than large?
The68thDimension on Nov 25 '09
oh yeah, I didn't read anything before I saw the image, and I immediately realised it was Earth.
mpeon on Nov 25 '09

surreal_blue on Nov 25 '09
Is the cosmic janitor mopping or sweeping? It's hard to tell. Silhouettes can be tough b/c you have to (more often than not) over state certain elements in order for them to be recognizable. So in regards to that, if it's a broom, i would include a dustpan somewhere. If it's a mop then the bucket should be a more universal looking pail. It's a pretty interesting idea.
Smelynai on Nov 25 '09
maybe try galaxy insteed earth or whatitisnow :)
container smaller please and without stars in it. container shoud be like black hole- there will dissapear our galaxy... |
Vazco33 on Nov 25 '09
Cool!! Great idea..I think if u add more starts will be more beautiful..
Check out mine http://www.threadless.com/critique/57259/The_Truth_from_Fingerprints |
mpeon on Nov 25 '09
thanks guys, the galaxy sounds great, but I want to stay with the earth idea... and yes, it is a broom, I like the COSMIC JANITOR thing, maybe for the title??
matthewcramer on Nov 25 '09
This is a good shirt. I agree that the trash can should be smaller, maybe more like a bucket. I also agree that it should be solid inside, no stars. I think the blues in the earth might stand out more if this was a black shirt, instead of dark blue.
any suggestions for me? |
mpeon on Nov 26 '09
VERSION III,
I changed the bucket, the mop, some stars, and I add a caution (wet) sign, I'm going to change the title to Cosmic Janitor (thanks surreal-blue), any comments? |
mpeon on Nov 26 '09
thanks for the help guys!
surreal_blue on Nov 26 '09
SA-weeet! The earth landmass isn't quite recognizable enough. I am pretty sure that's the Eurasian continent, but it's still a bit amorphous. The sign was a nice detail. I usually don't like type on most things, but this was integrated well. Also the lowest hand could use a little more defining in the fingers. That's pretty minor though.
*You're welcome. |
mpeon on Nov 26 '09
thanks man... about the earth, I like it that way, I dont want it to recognizable, just water and dirt
thanks |
Perfect Disguise on Nov 26 '09
I think the earth should be green and blue instead of brown and blue. The rest of this is pretty great though. Also, try and make some of the continent shapes in the earth mass. You can't really tell its earth. But not bad at all. Great concept!

I got that it was Earth from v2, but different people respond to different visual cues, so a bit more clarity mightn't hurt, like maybe the things iamalaayy suggested.

frostedlemoncoward on Dec 09 '09
Really nice changes you've made! I'd just like the "P" in "Planet" to be a bit more identifiable. Other than that, it looks great!
frostedlemoncoward on Dec 09 '09
Also, maybe a bit lower on the shirt.
Shryquill on Dec 10 '09
agree about the 'p', i really like this, have thought about giving him a blue collar , like 'blue collar workers'?
Can you give mine a look and please don't vote if it doesn't come with constructive criticism |
Looks great on black. Very dynamic.

I like this idea, I think you are getting there. I have to say watch your curves you can see some flaws here and there IE: the handle on the bucket, his left hand and left pant leg.
Also, your P looks like and F and the ellipse on your bucket is not perspectively correct to our viewing plain, it should be even more tilted. Keep at it this, it could be a winner. Show some love: http://www.threadless.com/critique/57415/Tree_People |

Gaucho Mejza on Dec 23 '09
Take the pale and put it to the left i.e. left of the workers leg or in the lower left hand corner in tandem with the sign & then make the earth puddle larger, at least covering the area where the pale is now or bigger, say at least 5X the size of the mop head. It's very cool!

The New Title: Cosmic Janitor What about the placement? |

very cool! I really like v4 and 5 too :)
MadMax198121 on Mar 04 '10
Cool concept! I like the placement of V6. Have you thought about using a Super Glow ink?
If you get a second could you critique the new versions of my designs please! http://www.threadless.com/critique/63199/Corporate_Robot http://www.threadless.com/critique/63304/Damn_you_Scuba_Steve#v2 |
I think this version is a great experiment but I prefer the clarity of the previous versions. You could possibly compromise betweent the two looks by keeping the v6 figure but adding a clearer 'planet puddle'. It's great to see you continuing the design!
mpeon on Mar 04 '10
yea, thanks guys, I'm working on the details, and the earth, what about the placement, any comments there?

special Ink for the planet?

pattard on Mar 06 '10
Wow, i looked at the first version and the difference is mad. I really like this one and i can really imagine it on a T. Seeing as everyone nowadays is really into the whole saving the planet thing i think it will do well and the message really stands out.
Well done. Mine is up for scoring, have a look please: It's all OK |

I think it needs to be larger on the tee, almost to the point where a bit of the bucket and the dead planet sign is on the side of the teeshirt, and the janitor's head is in chest area.

ok so placement upper

mpeon on Mar 09 '10
Meddingkid, what do you mean....and... CWS: Whats Dope,
meddlingkid on Mar 09 '10
well, the stance, drafting skill and rendering execution of the janitor looks like it has been handled by a different artist than that of the earth. I'm assuming that the earth is a puddle tha needs to be mopped up, so maybe some atmospherics, and a hint of recflection of the bucket and mop (stars) in it? Earth just looks a bit harsh for what is otherwise a really nicely rendered illustration - see what I mean?
mpeon on Mar 09 '10
I know what you mean Meddingkid, but I wanted to be just an earth puddle with the less colors posible... thanks!
mpeon on Mar 09 '10
well I'm going to submit, as COSMIC JANITOR and Im going to put a SPECIAL UV INK (OPTIONAL) FOR EARTH,
