Hey, this is a design I had for a bit and finally sketched out during a class to keep from snoozing off! lol



It's a front and back design. In the front you have those little 'critters' that are responsible for the different stormy aspects. Was wondering if I should have one of them with a little fan to represent wind?



So we have:

Rain - watering can

Hail - Ice cube tray

Snow - Ice shaving machine that catched some of the hail from the ice tray

Thunder - cymbals

Lightning - Alligator clips and a car battery



On the back, an artist with his paints painting on a rainbow (after the storm)

Instead of a fan you could do blowing with it's mouth. I'd probably leave the face off the cloud and leave them to the 'critters'. Maybe an oversized AA battery instead of the car battery and cables.

That looks really cool! If exectued well, I think I'd get one. I honestly don't think the back relates anough...or maybe the front was awesome enough...idk. I liked the front. Clever.

I like the back the most since I've seen a few images with the same idea as your front image. So I would just go with that and loose the front image. I'd also loose the face on the cloud. I think that the creature is cool enough to stand for himself. Looking forward to seeing the back image developed. :)

It could work in many ways. If you use the rainbow cloud you must leave the face in the angry cloud (one angry thunderstorm and one happy rainbow). Or, just the front of the shirt, without the angry face and put a liiitle bit more Character on the working thingys on the cloud, OR just the back. I would do just the front and more work on the thingys. Concept is really cool.

i wanna give all of them a little something that relates to what they make. so far i've got a nice knitted cap for the snow one, a beret for the rainbow guy, some earmuffs for the thunder guy

whatcha suggest for the rain, hail and lightning guy?

Ice dude can have a scarf and the lightning dude can have protective goggles. I don't know if you need to add the rain dude anything.

The rain guy can have one of those yellow fisherman hats (gordon's) , Scarf or gloves for the hail guy and lightning dude either goggles or power company hats, or a welding helmet. Anxious to see it!

My only thought would be: Do you need the back cloud. The rainbow is going to kill your number of colors used by 7 right from the start. The from storm cloud is fun all by himself why not concentrate on that side first and if you still feel it needs the back then go onto that part.

heya folks! thanks for the feedback so far. This is V2 of my StormMakers. Just for now, I left out the rainbow guy, I think he's basically done. It's just to start adding colours now.

Maybe the snow guy should be aiming at a downward angle like the rain guy. And maybe add an electric arc for the spark guy.

This is sickeningly cute! They eat that up with a fork and knife here :)

i really like the characters you have here. Maybe redesign the clouds and vary the shapes a bit more. You could even add a castle/ or a tower on top of the cloud and have all these characters popping their body out of windows and doing what they do best!?

very cute but i think that the ice shaving machine and car battery are a little unclear. i agree that maybe a little spark from the battery might help. not sure what would make the ice shaving machine clearer.

For the snow guy, try making him aim at a more downward angle, give it a traditional "Santa" hat so it makes you think of snow, and make the snow that blows out more plentiful along a path like the rain is.

Cool. I would like osme color on it. But it is a very good idea.

thanks for the feedback everyone! started working on the colours for it. Still gotta add some new bits to the line art, but I wanna try and get my colours right at the moment.

very cool idea and character, I think the cloud might need to be drawn a lil bit better to match the cool characters a bit more, and stay more balanced

arite, so i've been messin around with the colours for this and it's still got some ways to go. But I stumbled over this colour combo, it's a bit unorthodox for the subject matter I think, but it looks pretty good I suppose. Whatcha think?



Also, just added a quick lighting bolt, a bit of a thicker outline and some fine touches to the cloud!

think your varied line weight is nice though i think you need to use the weights a bit more deliberately to define space and give the elements within your composition a varied visual weight. also think you characters need a bit more definition. some of the lines are a bit pixelated too? maybe just appears that way?

This is adorable! I think you should add some colour, shading and depth. It would really make it. I'd also like to see what it would look like on a model? Maybe? Its super adorable though. Keep it up!

that's great!! haha I mean the idea is great but i think that you can do better than this, cos this design has a great potential.. i think you have to work better on the definition of the ghost, and on the colours, cos you are talking about storm and i think that orange is not the colour you need.. congratulation for the idea..
