Hahaha this is very cute!!! Ya i agree with the shading and maybe shadows. Because it is a cartoon, I wouldn't go too far or at all into the whole fur business. Good luck!!

That's cute! I'd also suggest a little shading, and maybe some highlights on the trash can as well, just to make it pop a little more. :)
