I sketched this idea in response to the Innovation challenge and was trying to illustrate a big jump from one communication technology to another. It was a bit tough scaling down to only 8 colors but I got it there. Does it work? What about the color choices? Thanks for the feedback!

since its wireles n all... compose a bit further apart?
the illustration and colors is pretty good now.

maybe have them in 2 different circles. maybe faceing different ways. To make it more interesting I would also tune down the colors a bit and try to give the colors a worn out look (like after many laundrys). Keep it up.

It's a sound idea. I think it'd be better if they were depicted further away. For some reason a movie scene where two kids are sat in there bedroom windows of neighboring tower blocks springs to mind (was this in Big maybe?). Maybe you could illustrate a situation similar to that maybe?

Great idea..Love th character as well, but I agree with RoeeSch, maybe if you put them in a different circles would be better..N maybe you should change the tee color.. ^^

Er...whoops, repeated my initial comment above.
Here's an updated version using the TV phone split-screen theme. I toned down the colors a bit and tried it on a sand shirt. Improvement?

I like the devide.

To be totally honest I miss the "pop-out" factor of V1. There needs to be a little something more... the characters are cute, the colours are great... but v1 had more of that "something special" than this one does... break them out of their molds!

I do like it better than the first one, especially deviding the characters, creating a 'distance'. I did like the 'pop-out' like ellie said, but I don't think it's nescessary.

The combitation of backgroud color and main character color is better in V1. althought the divide V2 is a better presentation.
Try to contrast the color like in V1 and i think it would be finished.


And then if you spare some time you could comment on this?

I like this better, but i'm not sure i like the split box. i think i would just rather see them on different sides of the shirt. like: left and right side, not front and back.

Really love this idea....

Pick another color than white for the bottom half. Use the same yellow color of the top, or switch the colors around so the background is orange or grey and the hat is yellow or shirt. Maybe make the shirt white and the background something else.

Here's the next version with two color options presented. Does it pop more? Which color combo works better? Thanks again for all of the fantastic feedback so far!

Nice when the design works with any color shirt! Tough call...

the direction they were facing in V1 makes more sense, but I like the white box with a zig-zag, so mix em both.

Like the idea. I like the boy on the right ending up outside of the background. Like the jagged edges as well in the middle. Agree they might look better looking at one another.

hmm. fun idea, but that white box with the zig zag in it could probably use some work. maybe if you reverse it? so the zig zag is white.
