new version, ive ditched the superglow effect to emphasize the details using different colors

i rekon ill change the name to somthing like "spirit of the sun" sounds a bit more suitable?

i like it- the colors look great with that shirt. Reminds me of an Egyptian cartouche.

Nice but I don't get it. I am afraid that I am one of those who will need an explanation.

its really just an abstract peice really, done in my own aztec kinda style, im just fiddling with it compositionally to try and get it to the point where its a wearable design

ok im going more towards a sunset kinda feel along with the new title (spirit of the sun), ive made the shapes more "squishy" for a more pleasant look, with a nice warm gradient too!

funny. reminds me of a work of the ancient aztecs and yet it is very "organic". i like abstract designs, but a lot of threadless members love a pun or some kind of meaning. seems ready to submit!



thx for ur comment on "ode to the city"... iwanted to do a watercolor-effect first, but that would require a processed print, right? or is there a way you could think of to avoid that?

This one is my fave of the three. I think you might get a lot of 'i don't get it comments' but I don't think any ammount of tinkering will change that. I reckon you should just sub it and see how it goes... good luck!

thx for the comments... yeah i agree its very abstact and dosent quite have a "meaning" or pun to it, its kinda an aztech sun s0 "spirit of the sun" is a relevant title in that repect i guess, just need to make that connection clearer i guess :)

new version, ive ditched the outlines and gradient, it now has a much clearer 4 colour style to it (yellow outwards to redish orange)

Well I think it looks cool, but does it have type in there or is it abstract? Maybe its just me but the design looks like written language that I can't read. Which is generally a good thing :)

hehe yeah its just abstract but i gotta admit it looks like half formed txt ^_^

I personally Liked the version 3 better, but that's just me. Then maybe put swivels around it to make it look like more of a sun??

My biggest suggestion for this one is to add a bit of random colouring... maybe make one of the outside blocks yellow and one of the inside blocks orange. Just to add a bit of HEYLOOKATMEI'MNOTQUITERIGHT! Might jump out a touch more!
