I guess what I meant is I'm not sure that just combining two works of a different artist gives a valid new work of art :) I'd like it better if you had some reasoning or logic behind pairing up those two, rather than it simply being two things Damien Hirst did, if you see what I mean.
for me it would look better if the whole shark was patterned with the Hirst dots, i.e. if they were used as its coloring, rather than just dotting its outline.
I like your concept of connecting the dots, but I think that it looks like you drew a shark and then just threw on some dots. It might work pretty well if you were to try it with only the dots and make them define the shark, using plenty of them. Look at kids connect the dots books for inspiration.
I welcome your input so please have a look at Shamurai
This is a cool idea, but maybe try to use the Hirst dots in a different way, like a Lichenstein style shark, very cross Atlantic! Great starting point though.
I see the connection however I think you should make the shark look a little more like the shark from the sculpture and the dots could match up more with the dots from his painting and perhaps use the letters instead of the numbers. Perhaps it is getting too obscure now but that may be a better nod to Mr. Hirst.
