A while back I submitted a design called musclestache. I thought it would be fun to recreate and restyle.



Here is a much refined sketch, but I really like where this is going.



I'm not sure about the chain in front of the stage, but without the chain is seems really empty. Anyway, I'm still playing. Comments and crits welcome.

I really like the idea and the illo is good but I agree that the chain looks strange. You could try drawing a row of spectators into the foreground to fill up the empty space.

I agree with having spectators at the front of the stage, great sketch! I love the circus style text

Yeah, not sure about the chain, someone suggested iron balls, I'm going to see what that looks like in the next version.



i thought of adding spectators, but the idea was to make it more like a circus poster, but maybe it will still work, I'll look into it.

I LOVE this. I don't think the chain is necessary and I think spectators would make it look too crowded. I can't wait to see the later versions of this!

hahahaha this is such a fun and crazy concept!! I'd lose the chain, it just doesn't make much sense with the rest of the design - you can fill up the empty space either by other liftable things (dumbbells or something) or move Mr. Musclestache further forward towards the front of the stage... can't wait to see where this goes :)

I might still play with the audience idea. It could be cool to create some fun silhouettes that become negative space using the shirt color.

He should have beegger neck muscles.

I wanted to make it like he wasn't so big because his mustache does all the work. But it made sense to me that he wouldn't be wimpy either. Although the neck muscles make sense, I don't want him to look too jacked.

i liked the original version better. I think you should work on other ideas for at least a year. If its still on your mind then work on it on the mustache again.

I made some improvements on this version. I corrected some of the wonky anatomy on mr. stache and his lovely assistant (although not perfect yet). I got rid of the chains and added the iron balls to the stage. Finally I made the stage smaller and brought mr. stache into the foreground.

I also added some muscles into the stache:)

Funny and strange. make the mustache muscles bigger. Also, the anvil seems to break from the vanishing point established by the stage flooring. Cool pic- good luck.
