Squirrel watching tv because it's to cold to go outside. What do you all think?

Well, it seems pretty cool, but the squirrel part is too dark and so we have to guess the design.

Try to make it a bit clearer, maybe using the TV light?

Love the idea! But I have to wonder if it'd be better for the squirrel to be in a more relaxed pose... maybe lying on his back, or hind legs stretched?

I agree with the above. I wonder what the squirrel would look like if it lays down like I do. It is pretty cool as it is right now, though!

you have some great skills! but as the other said, try working with the contrast, right now the illustration is too dark.. or maybe try different shirt colours, like a dark blue for example? you could use the shirt colour for the sky outside as well :)

I lightened it up a lot, and now I am just not sure what color to make the couch. What do you all think?

I love this idea, it's so cute! The textures really make this design too. I noticed a couple of people commented on the squirrel's pose. I see what you're going for and I think his back leg just looks a little odd, I expect to see his foot sticking out behind him or hanging over the couch like his arm.



Definitely like the green couch. Another thing that seems odd is how everything ends abruptly in a really straight line at the bottom...maybe just giving the couch some stubby legs would help?



I was going to suggest a different shirt color, but I realize he's in his dark cold tree and I like the contrast with the cold blue window. Really cool concept, I'll be sure to watch this one.

green is definitely better! and sbitcat is right about the line, maybe scatter the nuts around a little bit.. or move the tv, so they are not all in one line

His leg is now hanging off the couch. Lowered the tv, and gave the couch legs. What do you all think?

Nvertheless, I still think that you should try to make some light come out of the TV:

First it would help us understand it is a TV and then it would also lighten up the squirrel even more.

This is almost ready...just one more thing. When you look at it carefully the pile of nuts looks like it is floating beside the couch. Maybe if you make 2 pieces stick out a bit, then put that last nut in the lower right corner of the pile a little farther from the group (just far enough to "level" with the TV legs), it'll solve the problem? ;D

Angelatag's suggestion is spot on, I agree. I think the other tweaks really helped, especially breaking up that hard line. The only other thing I could think to suggest would maybe be a hint of tree detail in the wall, like apelqvist suggested above. Looking good!

I agree that the sofa has to look more like a squirrel's sofa and less like something he dragged home from Value City and zapped with a shrink ray.



I also agree that you need to make light coming out of the TV.



The leg hanging off the sofa was a perfect touch!

So, I fixed the acorns on the floor, and I am in the process of maybe making the couch more organic. Which color do you like more for the couch?And, what do you think of the tv light?

I like it a lot. the strongest part for me is the line work on the wooden window frame. I would love to see that kind of knoby wood grain used in the wood of the television. For the most part I think the lines on the couch are good, I would just make it a bit more cushy looking.

i love this, but right now i think the blue is too bright and takes away from the focus of the design. Try making the outside a darker gray color with little white specks of snow falling

haha, i'm diggin this! I like the green couch and the television glow. What about making the acorns smaller? Though i do like the style of this illo, looking good!

Something that caught my eye: the bottom of the sofa is too much of a straight line. Not sure how exactly to fix this--maybe just by making the sofa cushier like notnorm said--after all, the more comfortable the sofa looks, the lazier the squirrel looks.



The glow is perfect! Maybe make it glow in the dark.



Grey sky with snowflakes falling is just what this needs. The sky is too bright.

If you stick with the green sofa, try to make the glow more obvious somehow. It looks great with the brown, but not so much with the green.

I made the couch softer, glow more, anf some other adjustments too!!! What do you all think?

it looks great, but maybe add more black lines to the acorns because they are looking more like a photo than an illustration so they don't fit the style

I prefer seeing the squirrel with blue eyes than red eyes...

great improvements, the squirrel doesn't look so creepy anymore :)

just an idea. agree with mudra, what like the acorns to have a more scetchy look.
