So this here's my first threadless submission. I made it while foolin' around at some art class (i think there was a munch exhibit happening at the Art Institute). whaddy'all think?

It looks good for a first draft. I like the sketchy aspect of it though. Maybe focus on adding some detail. :)

Cool, I agree it would be good to see the design place on a template

I really like your character style, but I'm not feeling the "progress". There doesn't seem to be clear progression from one window to the next. I could see it working if the next charcter slighty resembles the previous but then evoves for the nextr frame. So the progress is in the art itself.



And seeing it on a tee template is always good.:)

I'm a fan. This is very fresh and clever. I would definitely wear this piece on a plain white tshirt. Or pink. I'm a fan of unpolished sketches... that being said, your "n"s crunk and munch could be a tad more readable. Anyway, the point is this is a GREAT idea that works great without a highly polished design. Apparently it worked for Julian Glanders piece

there should be more things that rhyme with unk in the grid. i;m not sure i see the progress...?

Nice! I like the skethiness. Maybe rework the scream a little-at first glance without reading the text, I read the image as a dog, with the arms being long floppy ears, and the mouth as a nose. Cool idea.

I love the idea but i think it needs just a little more detail. i like the sketchy technique. :]

Yeah I say run with the right out of the sketchbook look. Meh, probably not everyone will like it but it's different. I really feel like cleaning this up would lose the style it has. Other than legibility issues, I say you're done then :)

Don't leave links to critiques on designs up for scoring please.

i'd like to fix the hand in front of Crunk's face and re-arrange the letters a bit. what do you guys think of this idea as opposed to v.1? also, renaming it to something like "Birds of a Feather" or something? what do you think?

In a strange twist of irony, you're probably better suited having a Monk (of the religious kind) in the line up because it rhymes better than Munch - which (to the best of my knowledge) is pronounced 'Moonk'.

Nice original doodle! I like seeing concepts come from a doodle.

I think the layout is better then the first one but it needs a bit of cleaning up. I think you've got a good idea down and composition, but it's just a matter of elaborating on the good idea. Like when you go back to work on the design aspect you should make sure each character is visible, like the Crunk guy's face–which i know you mentioned above. I think with some space in between the characters and some cleaner lines–(either the design being traced in a program or redrawn)–i think it'll look great!

I quite like the two of them, if you vectored them up to have nice crisp linework they'd look cool, the reason I prefer the first is because the character style is neat and simple it's be easy to get nice crisp lines and colour into it, I'm not saying this is bad either, theres just more going on here!

I love the concept and the play on words keep pushing the idea. Keep going. Thanks for checking out my artwork as well I really appreciate your comment. I will work on another that get rid of the box surrounding the piece. I saw it and was hoping no-one else could see it.

Munch is a cool surprise at the end of this one. I think you should leave it one color because of that, in case you were thinking of adding more..

agree. the concept is there, now to fix the execution :) cleaning up the lines etc

Do you keep it black on white? I like Munch at the end!

i really could imagine a longer line of rhymes, so there's more to see before the punchline. i think the expression in munchs face ("WTF!!") would justify about anything in this line like a drunk, a skunk, a tiny shrunk person, a junk, maybe an indefinable chunk of whatever in between... might give it more of an absurd touch :)
