monday morning bump ^^

it's a good design jebs, def something worth pursuing as far as i'm concerned.

it is bogged down by being a skull shirt, but i like the details and the characters and the style.

you are only in a critique though, you might as well stick it on a shirt and all that - if it doesn't work out or you don't get the feedback you want, no harm done, but you'll struggle to get a lot of response from people unless you show them what they want to see to judge it.

Definitely worth submitting, but first get some more distress in the skull and other clean areas so it looks like the whole thing was weathered. Very cool design and concept. How would you place it on the shirt?

So now for the V2, i added more distressed textures, and wanted to smooth the skull/making a more abstract one. I also put it on an Orange Tee shirt, to contrast with the concept, giving i guess more impact...

I'm still digging the concept...i added the world in the left eye with the tear...so that we have a global symbolic, and an optical illusion too.

This shirt is really cool. There's all kinds of crazy sht going on. Great line work, simple one color, crazy things going on all over the place. Any of the versions work great for me. I hit Sub this!

i don't know, i feel that graphically it rocks, but that maybe i can improve the concept a little more...don't know yet how lol

i kinda miss the nose.

also, i feel it loses a lot of it's texture on orange - i know that that's not strictly true but all those cool strokes and patches through it seem to get lost on the orange for me.

i know you want to separate it from being a skull design as much as possible but unless you add colour to it i'm not certain the bright colour of the orange really works.

have you considered adding colour to this?

You're right - graphically it rocks. If you want to switch up the concept though, maybe you could go back to basics and work in some 'jungle' elements. I was really hoping that some of the urban constructions would form jungle related stuff. Or, maybe you could wrap the whole design in jungle vines and creepers like

THESE. Just a thought? It's looking good though man keep going with it.

@ digsy: so about the colors, i projected to make a third slide on silver tee shirt, with a dark grey ink, then, you'll see more the contrats, and the distressed and strokes textures giving movement to the illo.

About the nose, dunno, i feel it just add complexity to the design, and don't give anything more, and i wanted to gave a personal skull style (without jaw/nose, with teeth making a jail texture symbol etc.)

about the color, i tried to put the earth on V3, and even colored it, then removed both. I feel that if something has to be colored, it must be an intruder, i mean, an element that would be paradoxal to the rest of the design...or something generic either.

@chris rowson: yeah, that is a very good intention! i kinda lilke the idea to put Jungle elements , (animals, creepers, roots, etc...) like in "twelve monkeys" city scene (when B.Willis goes out), who put a decadence idea and a return of nature against mankind...?



Just a thought, i choosed "welcome to the jungle" title but i also had the idea of "dark side of the earth", taking a bit different way...dunno which was best, but surely, if i go deeper with your idea, the first title would have much more sense. thanks a lot ;)

Man this rocks, the silver tee with the dar grey ink sounds awesome and like it would fit very well with your concept, but this is so good so it actually seem to work on any color more or less :P

Added more details, and the jungle elements, the idea that nature begins to return as it was, before mankind, some elements are in Magenta color (or one color tee)...that's just subtle addition, i didn't want to change everything ;)

...fixed some stuff: the Lion is now bigger, and the smoke is on dark grey color, as it's not at all a jungle /nature element (that was a mistake of v5) and unbalanced the previous version.

Snakes are coming from the right building (v5 it was vines) now.



that's it! I think it's now pretty close to be sub...but i am still interested in your comments, suggestions

i'd sub it on the grey shirt. fits the city-theme best and orange isn't a very popular shirt color imo.

this is great and ready to be sub'd :)

Go with the gray. Integrate the wall grunge pattern into the design as well would add a nice gritty touch to it, I think.

The orange is just another tee shirt possibility, but i'll see what alternative to the grey i'll choose, because i like the alternative in 1 color too (maybe it will be on the grey too ;) )

for V7, i removed the guy who jumped from the window, and work more in the "junglized" concept, making nature grow into this same building...(adding a bat too)

I added a little plant growing from the central building too, and made the king of the jungle, the Lion a little bigger too...



right now, i think it's a step forward, do u think i sub it right now, or...improve a little again?

Lovely splash of colour! I disagree with a few of the above posters about the tee colour, I think it would look best on this gray. I'd still love to see some creepers snaking their way in between the buildings and bones. If it starts to look too crazy with all the magenta maybe you could just tone it down a little to compensate?

eheh, chris , thanks for the great feedback! About the creeperes between the buildings, that's EXACTLY what i wanted to try when i have a moment...but i'll make them in dark grey like i did with the jungle part on the left...



in fact, about the magenta, maybe it will be a one color tee shirt at the end... but i like the fact this magenta (it could be a grey tone or other) makes obvious the jungle's return...

gorgeous! I like the orange the best. My only input is that the little popup buttons on the bottom of your flash interface are a little wonky. The work fine, it's just a little awkward to interact with.

V8!

Well, i think it's a big improvement from V7...the upper part of the skull (on the bottom of the buildings) didn't convince me as it was too empty imo, so i decided to put the concept literally on the skull, i mean, the title itself, to give graphically a boost...i think it works much better...you?

Then, i changed the color of the jungle returns, and i added some crrepers/vines between the buildings to add more details in this part, and give less tough outlines in this area.

In the placement, i put the design in the center of the tee, i mean the skull centered.

@Sausage: well, honestly, i don't think the different color change so much the global design BUT, it has more sense, it's less funky, but graphically, i like increased contrast too. But of course, magenta worked pretty well too ;)



@JCMaziu: thank you! About te details in green, i'm aware of not making too busy the desig, that's why some vines, vegetation are in black and not in green....i tried adding another animals, and i feel it will lose a bit of subtility...

abou the tee color, i choosed orange to make a twist to the design.

V9...i think/hope that would be the version i'll sub.

Changed: The whole balance of the design, i decreased the size of the right part, which was too important, focusing too much on the right. So, the placement on tee shirt is also better!



I added the green vines/vegetation on the left eye (it was black).

A bit cynical, the nature's revenge idea was here, but now, it's even more obvious...the idea that the Lion itself says "Let's move on, your time is running out, and now it's time for us, Nature and Animals, to recycle your own stuff and shit", a bit of Planet of The Apes spirit mixed with Twelve Monkeys in a way...
