Maybe it's because I'm the daughter of a single dad, but shaving (of legs more than anything) has always just struck me as very weird. If you really think about it, it's totally bizarre. I thought if I showed how ludicrous it looks when animals shave that maybe people would think about what they do to themselves a different way. Not that I want people to stop shaving, just look at it in a new way.

ooh, also! Can you tell what the thing is by the lion's feet? It's supposed to be the holder for his razor but I'm not sure if that comes across.

i know guys that shave their armpits... I thought it would be funnier if the lion were male.



and how do you know the bear isn't a girl? :P i experimented with eyelashes to make the distinction but it didn't work. Perhaps I'll try again.

Here are a few darker color options.

I think you should have the lion shave his "beard" rather than the dog/wolf because the lion is an animal that can be visually differentiated by sex. It would make your point even more satirical because what lion in their right mind would shave his mane?

i thought about that, but the lion shaving his pits i think more accurately represents the irony of shaving. Women are expected to have long hair on their heads and yet hair anywhere else on thiner body is considered gross. Sort of like a lion keeping his mane, but shaving his pits.
