Colour or not?

Looks great as is, i guess opinions could change depending on which and how many colors.

That's the problem. I only see it working with an unlimited pallete (sim process) otherwise just the outlines.
But with the outlines only there are certain characters which may not be recognised without their signature colours

Either way, I can see this being printed, but I'd give it a go with colour, and sim process is probably best.

What if you just colored the surfer? make the crowd go all the way around in a B/w belt print. This is a very fun design.

Great work. Not sure if you need to use any colour/color. If Waldo is recognisable without his signature colours, then the rest should be noticeable.
Brightwood - I don't believe that the surfer should be the only one coloured as that'll take away the focus of the design. From what I can take, we are the crowd surfers, surfing for recognisable people. Correct me if I'm wrong eskimokiss, but that's how I view the design.

I see the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man! Brilliant. I love the lines on this. I would add color to this sporadically. Maybe color all of the hats using three different complimentary colors throughout and leave everything else white..?

Initially, I didn't have any intentions of hiding recognisable people/characters, but later thought it'd be fun to hide a few in there, and that's why most are toward the top of the design. I like your take on it though :)

Josh.. Yeah that's what it started off as, just a quick doodle of different characters found in any urban landscape, but with all of their faces obscured by the person in front. Seemed like a cool idea for a tee.

Animallipop.. Stay Puft is in there! So is Aled's Foam Monster, Waldo, Streaking JC plus 2 bobbies, a couple of people in animal costumes, a muslim, a jew, a nun, and many others.

I prefer V1 actually great concept. But this particular palette does nothing for me. A primary palette as suggested might work.

On a technical note I believe this is an oversized print, which means your colours will be limited to 5. It looks as if you knew that, but just be careful that you don't introduce new colours with your highlights and texture.

Awesome drawing! The colour choices are nice... but at a glance I think the saturated pink kind of makes the crowd surfer guy look a bit like one of those blow-up dolls. For that reason I probably prefer the less saturated colours in version 2, or the mono in version 1.

aside from that though, I think it's a great colour scheme

I agree with opifan i dont really like the pink on the suffer guy maybe try adding more colors on him instead of having all in one tone maybe have his shirt white his hair that burn yellow color that you have and etc... he is like the main character in this picture so why not have him different from the rest of the crowd and stand out, other that that I think its great, V1 is great too.

I really like this! but i have to agree about the pink dude. I even like V1 because its a bit free'er and the color doesn't overwhelm it. Just a thought - what if the crowd made kind of a loose surfboard shape - then he really could be called crowd surfer?!

i like V1 more, i think the colors too much, V1 is simple i like it :]

loooks good but with this new darker version i can see a little bit of the white between the black lines and the color- maybe you should multiply the line work layer in photoshop for your presentation so it will look supa dupa kleen! :D
