Wow, that's gorgeous. I'm no art critic, but I like just the way it is. I'm not 100% on the placement though. Once someone's wearing it, it seems like the effect of the bulb would be lost a bit as the most of the primary bulb would be on the person's side. Is it possible to shift it to the left some and wrap the print around, or make it slightly smaller? I'm quite new to the site, so I'm not sure it's a possibility.

That's a very good point, and as far as I know, threadless could do what you're talking about, so I'll edit it soon and resubmit a new version. Appreciate that, probably the most helpful info I could get.

I was told threadless looks down on that so I didn't use that technique, which kinda adds to why the design is a little rough, but after reflecting on it, I decided I liked the rough style.



I used the selection tool (lasso/polygonal) mainly, but attempted to mock up a live trace style by simply filling the layered selections with the full color.



I do plan to fix up the loose ends, but I wanted to get an overall opinion.

I don't know... It's artistic alright, and a cool design, but I honestly don't think I'd wear it. It is an excellent design though.

Its a good idea and you've done a pretty good job so far. It does a have a bit of a live trace look to it (even though you didn't). I'd try adding some textures or loose linework to give it a little something 'extra'.

I think it's a great idea/design. I would wear that. I'm completely into all those dark tones, and I think the idea behind it is very complex. Overall, I think it looks really great! I want it submitted. I would wear it. And I can't wait to see more of your designs!

the idea is really cool but i agree that the lines could be smoothed out a bit... mainly towards the upper side of the lit bulb, it looks a little pixely. easy fix though!

Ya, I plan to fix the lines, but I appreciate all the positive comments, really makes me feel better about the design. I'll be submitted a second version later tonight (hopefuly).

I like Tigerbill's idea about cleaning up the lines, than have a lose outline around objects to define it better. Like everyone said, it looks rough at the moment. I can't seem to figure out what those 2 objects on the left are? What are they?

They're other lightbulb that aren't lit. I'm gonna clean up my lines, but I might not add an outline.

Dude I think this needs way more work before you can submit it. I think there are several things you can do to improve it:



Change the look of the piece because, even though it's not a live trace, your style makes it look like it is and people are gonna have a problem with that.

Have the 'light' extend out so the other bulbs are not so obscured. It took me a while to figure out what they even were.

Lastly, I'm not sure threadless can belt print more than one colour.

I think you should add a half tone+paint splatter from the lit light bulb going all the way up the shirt to the opposite corner. like this big radical paint splat of bright yellow. I would wear it then.
