I posted this design in a blog to get feedback - have changed colors so it doesn't look too much like anything else out there at moment :) Any thoughts?

I'm not crazy about the style of the cars, especially matched up with the simple blob of color. I think to make this work, you might be better off illustrating the cars, perhaps more cartoony. Then using the color as more of a splash between the cars to emphasize the meeting of the two colors.

I like red and blue colors better, but like the cab idea too.

Thx halogirl....Yeah I am thinking of illustrating this properly - just wanted to get feedback before I go down that VERY long road ;')

great idea - yeah I think if you make the colours gel a bit more to make it more obvious that it's the two car colours coming together making the big splash of colour underneath.

what if there was some dripping of each cars color into the puddle then swirling together to make the secondary color?

I like the idea of the colours from each car mixing. I like this idea a lot.

Cool! I like the cab as well. Looking forward to seeing the next version!

Thanks for your comment on my design. I wondered if you could comment on my other one? You have a strong art background, so I really value your opinion....

Could you have the colours of the car spilling into the puddle like area.

Looks cool though keep working on it!

would love some feedback too...

hmm...how about 2 trucks/vans/ something cutesy carrying paint and they crash into each other and all this paint spills everywhere creating a myriad of colour on the tshirt? Maybe you could leave the car in negative space kinda, and focus on the colour splashes?

It looks like you used a cut out filter (boo filters). Whatever that spill is on the bottom doesn't look right. I'd like to see how those cars look as plain line art. You may need tone to indicate the crumples and dents. But I see less as being more for this particular design. I think the two cars crashing would look better if their colors were complimentary. Red and green clash the most in my opinion.

^ Thx for the comments guys -

kirpid, not sure what a boo filter is? I drew the spill in Freehand.

The idea is that the 2 colours make another colour - so red and green making brown would look like...oil? I intend to redraw them more cartoonish...I just have some paying jobs to finish first :)!

I believe he's referring to the cars, not the spill, and he's right, it does look like a bad Photoshop filter. I know this might just be a really early mock-up, though. So you are planning on drawing the cars yourself, right? I think the splash of color might be a little stronger if looked more like a burst or splatter that had happened at the moment of impact. Right now it looks more like slowly-leaking fluids that are mixing together after the collision, which is fine, but I think it could have a lot more oomph.

Great idea, though. Can't wait to see it develop.

I think each car should be leaking its own color fluid and mixing together at the bottom of the design. I see a lot of potential here. Nice start!

Nice. Cleaner lines would be good, and the bubble could be any kind of fluids leaking from the cars. Have you seen how oil goes rainbowish? I think that'd be cool for the spill.
