Oooo, awesome concept. I do think that there should be some shadows under the earth and that the guy shouldn't be cut off at the ankles. And the clouds on the earth seem a little choppy.. but other than that this is a pretty awesome start, great job so far!

I agree about the clouds, especially to the west of south america, they look like they don't fit with the other clouds. Also, is there anyway to scale the rifle down a bit? It looks huge compared to the guy. It's a way cool shirt though. It provokes some thought.

You may want to change the vantage point for a more dynamic scene. Have the shooter above the Earth with the earth filling up the bottom of the shirt.

i agree with Typhoon Samurai u may want to fill up the shirt a bit more. but this is a really cool design! more than one color option for the shirt would be nice as well. just a thought but its not really necessary

I've added some stuff here, his feet, shots everywhere, bullet capsules and kinda fixed the clouds on the Earth...

I also tried and made the guy white, I dont know, maybe it could fit on other shirt colors too, but I didnt like the result... I prefer the big version...

Like the idea. In my opinion the handle of the weapon is a little bit to big and maybe it looks more cool if you colour the planet just black and white.

I tried the Black and white version but I didnt like it, I also painted the shells, I think this gave the drawing a better look.. I'll be updating it to V3 soon, the only change I made was with the shells...

Design v6, crit please!

I think you should either make it all black and white on the blue tee or have the dude and the earth full colour on a white tee. I think this would make the design tighter.

Lots of changes...



I painted the Earth with only lines to try it out and its outline is not black anymore...

Then I painted the shells and the cartridges to a darker brown than earth's, then I added wind effect on the shells.



I dont know if I like the Earth like that, it looks cool, but I gotta see which one I prefer...

I like the effect on the bullets, thanks 4 the tip Grande Sballo.



The design Bob is wearing is the one with the full colored Earth, everything else is the same...

Damnable gravity!

my only critique would be that bullets dont have the casing on when they are fired so maybe take that off and just have the bullet flying back at your figure.

Very cool. I'm just wondering, where is the light source? It looks like the man has light coming from the right and left according to his pants and jacket and from the top according to his arm. Maybe I'm being too picky, I always notice shadows first :) Do you think there are too many bullets? Just a thought. Very nice tho. And thanks for commenting on mine!

Yea, thats the light source, its comming from the top, then top left and top right... Im making a black and white version without these lines to see how its going to get... I'll take a look at the bullets too, thank you!

Really cool idea, i like it a lot. I like the black and white idea and think it would work a lot better. If not, you need to colour the man aswell. Nice progression in the design since version 1, i'd say your nearly there.

For me, I usually like simplistic designs better although the previous versions are also cool looking. If I would change anything, I would make the outline of the Earth a little thinner. Then I would submit…will be looking out for this one!

Both the blues are nice. The purple looks nice to, although, it would be an interesting contrast to have the skin of the man remain monotone, while the Earth is all colorful. Perhaps you could submit all three options at once?

hmmm... i dont quite get it, is he shooting at the earth only to have the bullets swing around and hit himself?



anyway, i quite like the 2nd one, how you did the details of the earth and all. but if you are aiming for simpicity you should go for option 1. perhaps dirty up the image abit by using grunge brushes or placing a distressed texture overlay. since your image has that.. gritty feel.



and also try to place your designs on an actual tee model since that usually does bette. theres many tutorials in threadless if you don't know how to do it. cheers! :)

Aesthetically I really like the dark blue version.



South America really stands out to though, it seem his pointing the gun at that land mass rather than the world.... mmm might just be me though, and it may not matter but then everything adds up to a narrative.....

I think most people like the simplicity of the blues, but I really like the detail on the earth in the purple. I love the hurricane that is about to ravage Mexico!

I think that version 2 is the best..with colours and details on the earth !:)

I like the third one, but (last thing you want to hear) consider putting the man's head in the same kinds of shadows that you've used on the body. It seems a bit incongruous to have an unshaded head with such a dramatically-lit body. Consider the typical hitman hat?



Basically for this shirt to succeed, the figure is really going to have to carry it, so if he's at all ropey it's not going to fly. With no disrespect meant to your original drawing, it has helped to simplify the figure by removing all the hatching. You just need to solve the head. Check out some graphic novels.

I think the fellow looked much better when he was shaded in the previous versions.

Looking good! Just a head's up though. There were many planets shown in the "GREEN" luv's competition and many of those were panned by internationals for just showing The Americas rather than a more global view. I think it would help your scoring if you rotate the world to show a bit of Europe/Africa as well. Cheers!

3rd is my fav! second choice is the first one. Maybe a combination could be cool.. the background of the first one but the white on the guy? I think the white is what I like about option 3.. but hey, your design :)

In this version (hope it is the final one hehe) I changes the Muzzle flash, now it looks more like a shot, I fixed some shadows, like in the bullets, and now the man has some shadows in his face, I tried with more shadows, but the result looked kinda weird...

I was thinking that maybe I could put some shadows on the floor under the guy and the Earth, but it also looked weird...

The bloodstain under the guy can also be interpreted as his shadow...

So, the guy is shooting the world, the bullets hit the world but then they come back after the him..

It represents that if we do something bad to the world, its gonna give it back to us!

Hmm... I understood the message pretty well just by looking at it. Seems to communicate nicely. I love the monochrome style too. My only comment is that the guy seems a bit oddly proportioned. Given the size of his head... he's pretty short. Did you intend this?

Man! This f**kin rocks dude!!! Love the shadow that doubles up as blood, plus on a red T adds to it further!



Strickenbrow made the comment of the head being a wee bit too small in proportion to his body...I think that since part of it is hidden behind the rifle and he has to lower his head for support and aim, these are the reasons why it is like that. I personally think it looks good.



Only one comment on this version and it’s the blood splats....there are a couple of circle ones that are a little bit too round for me. You could break this off by adding a splatter trail maybe?Apart from that, I agree with MIW...SUB!!!!!! Good job Guiw!!!

i'd prefer it if he wasn't shooting the moon from point blank range. what if he was in space shooting it from a spaceship or something

I'm not a fan of the blood or the bullet holes in the Earth. I think what made the concept was the guy shooting, not hitting the Earth, because the bullets were sucked into orbit and spit back at him. I like the two color version best. Maybe reduce the size of the man and the Earth and add some space between them to give the audience a better view of what's happening. Big graphics are cool but, in this case, I think you should zoom out to better convey your idea. Cheers!

I agree with Quister with the concept. However, you could also see it as since the guy attacked the Earth (as seen from the bullet holes), then the Earth fires back at him! No reason to to attack the guy if he didn't do any harm to Mother Earth. Unless the attempt was enough....Or is that just too confusing? Sorry, its late in the evening for me!! :-P



I'm already a big fan of this but ultimately if i had to choose in any case, i would defo go with the splatter of blood in the design along with the bullet holes. The splatter gives it some additional umph!

i like it, i dont really have any ideas for you but, i think i would like to see more interesting of a placement. it just doesnt have a t shirt design feel to it. i really like the illustration, but it just seems to be missing something.

Thanks jweb3d, I felt like that before and I tried to make something like v9, I thought that if I used more of the tee, it would look more like a tee... I like v11 too, but v9 doesnt give me that feeling you are talking about, and v kinda does...

I think it looks a bit empty too, maybe because the man isn't really standing on anything. Where is he supposed to be, or is it just figurative? I think it would add a lot if he was in or on something. Just an idea. His shadow is a bit crazy too, but I don't really know where the light source is coming from.
