Sorry for the low quality. I wanted to put it to the public before I went any further. Its an idea for the Big Buck competition which is titled 'The Great American Hunter'. I've taken a twist on it which meant that it didn't have to have guns or deer in it. Tell me what you think. (Will be clearer when illustrated, but it is set in 1950's - and that's a huge Bald Eagle)

Thanks Quag. Its sketched on A3, inked by hand, scanned and cleaned in photoshop. Illustrator will be the next stage, but not before I hit the hay for the night!

Haha. No - it's a delicious hotdog. That can be taken out. Thats the idea of this crit though. It's meant to look as though the boy has just been swooped upon and picked up by the eagle. If it doesn't look like that I need to revise it. Let me know! Thank you.

Just change the position of the falling hot dog. It looks awkward falling straight out of the bun.

You know what, I might just scrap the hotdog. It's been too much trouble by half.

i think put the sausage in the bun. But also the lady's feet look kinda wierd, pointy and small to me. The layout looks great!

Yeah, the feet are meant to be foreshortened with heels on - so elevated at the back slightly. Thanks for the pointer, I'll take that into account and try to alter during the paint stage. Also, that damned sausage is now just falling out of the bun at an angle in the version I'm working on.

Now added some colour. I've gone for a vibrant palette which will make shaing a bit harder, but I just wanted to see what people thought about the colour scheme. Still a lot to do.

I've scrapped the green. I was all a bit too much. The grey suits this so much better I think. Would like to see whether you think this is an improvement. I've hand-painted polka-dots and stripes and it's given it a bit of a Lichtenstein feel to it, which is fitting for the era, I guess.

I think it's really great, it is well done and it is funny. Looks great on the gray.I would add a bit of a background (some grass, maybe a bush, a fence, dunno.

This is great... don't you have a job? lol... I prefer v5's coloring. I think the hotdog is cool but maybe it should be half-eaten? That kid's pretty chubby... I don't think it would be whole for very long!

No!!! I think its perfect. Whats wrong with you guys. Keep the picket fence cause theres the all American theme going. And you got the hot dog just perfect. This is something of greatness. Alas, it falls on blind eyes...submit it!

the fence is great, it kind of reinforces the idea behind the design. It just looks strange in some way, like the boards are too thin, maybe? I'm not sure what it is.

He made it in a kind of rounded angle. It makes a different feel for the shirt. I love it.

with fence i like more. i think with fence better!

but the only thing which i don't really like is color of t-shirt.
