i figured i'll 1st display the artwork, on a plain background before further developing it.



this would look good if its done belt printing (intended placement: mid torso left/right). dont u worry, i'll display my placement in v2. but 1st, wanna know if its worth pursuing?

it is pretty good, but not good enough to "kick ass"

like the high contrast. maybe centered?

placement is good, illustration is good also.. but somehow its too simple, maybe u could try some claw ripping marks on shoulders or on a side or something.. give it a try..

i've added some slash n claws to it, give it fierce feel...as suggested by ekspanzi, thanx!



note the difference effects to the claw..right claw has got color burn shadow while the left claw was left normal..wanna play around with the endless possibilities here. let me know wht u guys think :)

Oooo neat! Definitely prefer the left claw with no color burn. Makes them look sharper. Love how the black lines of the head show through the red slashes

here's a later version..i liked the claws n slashes shown in v3. but i dont think many would dig it, its too dark or fierce haha.

I think it may need something more in the frame around the face. If you do that then bring the outside textures of the frame in a bit. Great style. It's gone through a lot of transitions already...

hmm like the yellow encompassing the lion but the crown not so much I understand what your trying to get with the concept on king of the jungle but the lion alone to me speaks loud enough of that and does a good job but the rest of it is sweet!

I love the lion, i like the crown, but not the other stuff, is that yellow gold foil inkż?

I woul like to see the lion with the crown, but with the black lines more accentuated like in the first shirt.

I like this color of shirt, but I think the yellow and white is a bit too strong against it. Maybe if those colors were a little more muted it might work better. You should consider doing the lions main with the flocking process so that it's fuzzy. :D

I love V2...don't forgot "less is more" :)

wht i've done here is made 4 different styles/on 4 different t's.

row 1, left:smudgy lion face & row1, right:vector lion face



row 2 r the same with addition of the crown to it, considering some of u prefer to make it stay.



i'd say the changes r subtle at this moment..come to think of it, wont it kick ass to make the crown UV ink? appears in the dark ahahaha!

My preference would be the top left one, but on a blue tee. I'm not sure about the crown, i think its a better image without it, but the calls up to you man. I'm sure it'll be kickass whatever you choose.

Top right for sure. The crisper image makes it look beautiful, and I think the crown looks a little random and with the drastic contrast in colors draws a lot of attention away from the lion, so I would take it out (unless you were going for the contrast and the attention drawing lol). And this looks like it's on purpose, but the lion's chin isn't really there.. so adding it may make the lion look more regal. But this is still looking very nice, great job :)

By the way, if you're not too busy, I would really appreciate some help!

I like the bottom right design with the crown but on the top right blue shirt :) good luck dude!

Looks great. The black isn't complimenting the design though.

I'd use a color similar to the ones already in the design so it doesn't take away from the focal. The one on grey looks best.

i'd say go with the top right one

I like the crown a lot and I think it makes it manlier but I don't like it in black

black kinda distracts from the lion's face which is the real awesome part

Top right, the blue tee is a brilliant optic effect.

Well done! My only crit would we that the light pink outline against the orange almost makes it look blurry. It's an interesting effect if that's what you were going for, but I did have to do a double take because I didn't understand why it looked blurry at first.

I like this design. I agree with jewelwing. take out the light pink outline. At first i thought it was blurry but when i saw the closeup, i understood what happened. Its a nice effect but maybe against the precise background, you'd want the lion's edges to be precise as well for it to stand out?



Hmmm..you know..might want to check whether your lion's head is symmetrical. Unless that's what you're after, I can see that the lower jaw looks somewhat disjointed. The curve doesn't look centred same as the fangs.

thanx for all the support & crits way up to v8. i've listened n removed the unnecessary...pink outlines which made this lion looks blurred (in v8 below)..touched-up the lion's chin to make it more realistic..i think thts abt it.

i've added minor touches to this illo. Some lines around the mouth. Figured this wud make it complete compared to previous versions.



i've been very careful not to add too much details, coz it wud loose the overall point of this illo...which to create something tht burns ur eyes (so to speak) out of a simple sillhoutte.

thanx Jvesuvius, i've tried this with other color & like yellow & red combo effect the best, especially the gradual shades of yellow which sometimes make it look like stale gold-foil ehehe.

This looks pretty good.



Your file quality is pretty low, though—everything is all JPEG'd. Try to minimize that when you submit.

I think it looks fine.. the only things that I can see that have a little bit of blurriness are the yellow dots at the very edges of the design. No one will mind that and I wouldn't've(?) noticed it if Mismonaut hadn't said anything. I wouldn't worry about it :)
