1. you can't tell that's what it is

2. how does it correlate to the theme?

it was my first sub. i chose pre-loved because he wears a heart and i first drew the image for my girlfriend, so the design has been 'pre-loved' before being 're-loved' in t-shirt form.

i think you might have taken to the concept a little too abstract-like. it also really helps if you can actually tell what it is. if this is the best way that you can draw this out i dunno how much chance you have of getting anything accepted...

haha, alright. well it is intended to be abstract. the lines create more images on the outside; see how the fire creates the edge of a face on the right, nose and mouth.



I will upload the original image to show what it started from... although, if the idea doesn't transfer to a t-shirt right it's cool, I wanted to see how people on Threadless responded to it.

V2 is the original crayon/sharpie image show plain across the whole shirt.

You're limited to 8 colors for submissions. Every single shade of a color counts as a new color so your design, in theory, has thousands of colors in it right now. If you really want to submit it you should use the original as a template and redraw it in Illustrator so that you can control which colors are being used.

its name...Burnin' love...Just as a suggestion, I would form the flames into a heart shape.

Will do. What about the textures, should I attempt to recreate those in Photoshop/Illustrator as well?

but i think it's too complex.

make them more legible and it would be great.

I'm liking the illustration. Run it through Illustrator or trying using half tones and cross hatching for shadowing and/or lines for texturing. Looks interesting tho.
