I really liked your last version... the hair almost served as a banner across the chest which really draws attention. could you do more detail to the longer hair? Great colors!

I really like this concept but it looks like anatomically it's a little funny. I know if doesn't have to look like a perfect silhouette of a person, but the head/back of the neck area looks a little too off. Perhaps google some profile silhouette images for reference. I find that those usually help a lot. Good luck ;)

Cool colors! The back of the head is off.. it doesn't arch enough. And if you do decide to do black lines, they should probably be thinner than V3's. Good job so far!

And if you have a second, I sure could use some help!

make it a wrap around so find a back tee template and have it wrap around

The chin/neck area looks a little too straight. Perhaps you could curve it a little. The hair looks a little stiff as well. I think the colors look great though.

Can I have the design wrap around the shirt? Ideally that is what I would like but I thought designs could only be on one side and not cross any seams. I am new to threadless so I don't know the specifics.

Should the black lines in the hair be a bit bolder? Is the back of the neck resolved?

I'm not sure about wraping, but I think you should put some more effort into the hair. it looks bland and a bit sloppy, and I really don't like the black outline. If the hair is the focus, then really go for it. Make it super detailed and absolutely stunning. Maybe even make it more than just hair! Because really, it needs something more to be selected by threadless.

Be sure to keep that nice flow going, I think it'll turn out well.

Smokingornon hit the nail ont he head. I agree right now the hair is plain. You ahve to really work that hair since it is the focus of the shirt.

The first option is nice, though maybe add some sparkle to the hair? Also, on a white tee it looks a bit stark. A black or blue tee might lift the design.

Ok so my last version was too big to be printed so I came up with a few variations of placement on the shirt. I've also decided that I want to use glitter ink or metallic clear ink. Please comment on which version I should submit.

For me option C is the best..



But maybe you should try to make those color areas more interesting by adding some texture on it.. So it wouldn't be just plain color...

i like where your going with this design, but it needs some more colour.

1. i think you should go for a white background tee.

2. i like option c and i like the idea of the hair extending around the back

4. here's just a wacky idea that came off the top of my head.

why don't you change the colour of the hair into the colours of the rainbow, and then extend the hair onto the back to form a rainbow? just a random idea i came up with. not sure if it would work.

great idea, best version yet. I'd still play with the hair a little and try and make each strand individual the follows the whole contour...instead of having them look sketchy...make sense?

You need to lose the drop shadow and work on the colors a bit more. Its not popping like it should.

I think the black is jsut to plat may if you had some really cool light hitting that, it wouldnt be taking the focal point away from the hair soooo much or, just try making it a lighter color all together..?

i think there could be more hair towards the bottom of the shirt so it would fall more realistically, and i'm not into the drop shadow effect. i quite like the profile. it could be cool if instead of the gradient you had some scenery or clouds or something? A.

I would definitely remove the background completely, it's too plain against the rest of the image. Otherwise, I would suggest adding detail to it.

A friendly head’s up;

Consider that artists who sub their designs have just 7 days for it to be commented and voted on. I know they, and maybe you too, would expect everyone’s attention to be focused on their entry. It’s understandable then, that someone else trying to use an artist’s score page to solicit attention to his/her work is considered by many here to be disrespectful. So, leaving an address or link to one’s own work on another artist’s scoring page, (it’s acceptable in the critique section), is not the right thing to do. Put another way, it’s the equivalent of a painter walking into another artist’s show and telling people to visit his/her show down the block. Also, doing this is more likely to cause people to avoid your sub and make you somewhat unpopular with many of the artists on threadless. I hope you understand. Cheers man!

loose the background. the whole t-shirt, in my opinion, needs more colour.

i vote for version a. the hair looks more natural. v c has weird black lines going around it, which i don't like.

actually, i'm not sure if you should add more colour or make it more simple. i think you should loose the necklace. then see how it looks. if it still looks too much then think about editing the background.

I like this version the best so far. Does the hair wrap around the back of the shirt? That would be really nice.

I submitted an earlier version with the hair wrapping around, but it was rejected by Threadless for being too large.

Definitely go with the gray, with glow in the dark ink.

I agree, the lighter gray. The darker gray would hide the shadows that let the hair strokes pop off the shirt. I might also make the eyelashes thinner and end in a point. They seem a bit large to me.

I like your colour scheme. Maybe you could move the head up slightly, and then lower the angle of your hair (it's fairly horizontal atm) so that it's flowing diagonally down the tee? Was just thinking this could give the hair a more natural, flowing feel.

I liked the necklace, it would be better maybe with smaller beads and floating a little farther from her hair?? Also, maybe a LITTLE less space between the strands of hair??? Some kind of happy medium between this verison and the original? I hope this helps a little bit, because I really like the concept of this design!

Yeah, Ilya Yas is right. Her neck and back of head are WAY off, and if it had gotten through, it would've been a severe detriment to the design. Here is a good picture of the profile of a woman. You can flip the picture in Paint if you really need to. But once you fix the neck, this thing will be VERY much improved. Also, don't bother with the necklace, the design will work very well without it :)

I still think the hair looks better in a stream, not broken up so much, but I think this looks fine.



I think something that might bring it all together is if she had her hand going through her hair, or something. I dunno. I just feel like it needs something else.

I would keep the necklace out, the title is thoughful hair, not necklace :)

The woman's silhouette is MUCH better now, and I agree with Gabeboning about the hair going back to a stream and not broken up as it is. And maybe a few strands in front of the silhouette could be cool too, but this is your design, so do as you please!
