my friends make fun of me whenever i wear my red shoes and the first thing they say is 'click your heels dorothy!' or 'where's toto?' so that's my inspiration behind this piece. but i figured what's the point of clicking when you can jump. :) please comment, that's the only way i can improve.
I like the overall balance of the design. The girl's face is bothering me - her features are concentrated in a small part of the front of her face, perhaps? I can't really put my finger on it. I think it needs a fleshtone, too, not just white. Maybe some very subtle shading to show knees and elbows.
okay.. i changed the color scheme (though it looks less like dorothy-ish, i can definitely do more details with this one) and the girl's face. i will add some shadows on the elbows, knees, shoes, and swirls when i get some more time. but.. would anyone wear this? is it enough of a 'concept' or aesthetic picture. gimme some feedback please!
yea i think the shading around the face is a bit too thick, i'd try it without the shadow on her cheek and make the ones on her neck a bit more subtle.. also maybe try moving the girl down and making her a bit bigger, I'd also keep refining the pattern, make it look real streamlined :D
less of a dramatic change.. but there's some subtle things. some extra shadows on the shoelace, buckle, dress, skin, swirls. i greatly appreciated joelnz's comment and took it into consideration. and this is what i got? let me know what you think of it.
this is definately much better. her face looks great now. the only thing i might change is her right hand, grabbing the dress. soemthing about it looks funny to me...
yea, its looking really good now, i think that dark maroon colour is a bit too dark and kindof distracting, I'd just tone it down a little bit so its just a few shades darker than the red in the dress. :) also i think that little hole in the white pattern is missing a shadow
you guys don't realize how happy i get when i get a comment! hahaha. i know it's a little stupid, but i really learn a lot from it, because i stare at this thing for so long, i don't even know what i'm looking at anymore! hahaha. okay. well.. i changed lil things, i literally mean 'little' things. size of hand, feet, and head (though i doubt you can see the difference with the size reduction and what not) and the maroon color + that one shadow. i kept looking there once in a while and i couldn't tell what was wrong with it, thank you for pointing that out. hehehe. i'm like a lil girl squealing cause i'm so happy. thank you alll. and.. eh.. can you find something else wrong with this?
this is really good! i love the expression. but could you maybe put up a version on a different shirt color? i think the flesh tone blends a little too well in with the yellow. maybe light pink...
here are some color options that i thought might work out okay with the design. i like gold and coral, but raspberry is such a cool color! hahaha. well keep in mind that i had to use the color shirt to be my '6th color'. 5 is just not enough! (for hellofromthemoon, the light pink looked like light lavender (i got these picture from the shirt company threadless uses) and it looked like goo? so i didn't put that up, but coral is somewhat close and much more aesthetic to look at, hope this is what your looking for)
This is looking really good. It's a vast improvement from your initial version. I'm not very good at offering artistic criticism, but hopefully this post will bump you up so other, more opinionated people can offer better criticism.
the girl looks finished now i think, i dont really like the pattern though, I'm not sure why.. it just doesnt seem streamlined enough, i think i would also try without the circles, or if u wanted to keep them move the bottom right one down a bit more, and get rid of the one under her leg, i think that would help balance it more.
