Updated. Just to explain, the green indicates sections i want as super glow. I may do more work on it, but busy this week. The idea is that all you can see at night is the cityscape and stars. Enjoy!
I think the new colors improve this ten fold. t shirt color? i'm sure you've tried every color behind it, does the design get lost to a grey shirt or does it gradually emerge.
have you thought of the branches and roots twisting to the edges of the shirt? trees winding like veins through the structure. I'll have to go back and find the blog you mentioned.
If you have time please visit my design and score it.
think it looked way better on the dark shirt in v1 - that doens't limit your use of glow ink though.
it def needs more colour then it's got now - if you want to keep it on a light shirt, then put the tree colours back in and leave the night stuff and window lights as glow in the dark
Thanks guys. I liked it on the dark aswell, but they said with the specialty inks thing it's more transparent on the light colours. I'm also thinking of flipping the whole thing upside down, making the roots a paler colour and have people walking around on top of the upside down buildings/in the windows. Got exams this week, but i'll try and work on it.
I liked it darker, not sure you even need this fancy glow in the dark stuff. The moon looks much more basic than the rest of the composition too. BUT its a sick design im liking it alot.
i like the moon and stars, and the idea of this design, however the color choices are a bit predictable and bland, i would agree with diversity.. or maybe light blue instead of yellow?
wow, its kind of hard to envision how itd look during daylight and nighttime...maybe you want to present the two versions side by side... still to be perfectly honest, i dont feel very excited by the idea. i feel like ive seen variations of this idea at threadless plenty of times before...id like an idea to jump out and grab me, and then have the execution to mesmerise me...

as to what im looking for in designs during Critique, id like an idea to jump out and grab me, and then have the execution mesmerise me... it's not that easy i know--im working on it, too.
Hi. I finally did some more work on this. This is to give a bit more of an idea of how this shirt will work in the dark and also try some new colours. I love this kind of turqoise-ish green. One idea i had aswell as this is to scrap the glow, and have a forest of these building trees being logged.
im not too sure the glow really adds anything to this though.. it seems almost gimmicky, e.g. putting in the glow just for the sake of having glow.
a few ways to play with glow..perhaps as mentioned in the previous version, your trees look like corals. so maybe in the dark, clowfish appear in glow ink playing in the corals! have some fun with glow ink in that way, to surprise your viewers :)
I like mreisel's idea aswell. I'll do some work. Sorry. I've on hols. I disagree agrimony. This was designed to have the full 24 hour cityscape, just like a real city in that respect. Busy by day (trees) and spectacular light by night.
I really like the new colors, I'd keep them. I don't like the line at the bottom of the buildings, it doesn't seem to belong. I think it could do withouth a back design as well. I do like the idea of a glow somewhere in the peice tho. I think it would add to the feeling of night and also of light reflecting off the buildings...
