Yup, I'd say so. Just bear in mind that someone else is also working on a "cats as bowling pins", design although it's quite a different style to yours.

i love their different looks. the rightmost one's head is tilted a little too far over. maybe like 45 degrees instead of 90?



maybe have a dog or group of mice bowling something towards them?

Maybe make all the cats white with black lines up their front. Something resembling a bowling pin lol I'm not currently looking at a bowling pin right now so that's off the top of my head.

Is that Serious Cat? If the theme is lolcats or something like that then all of the cats should be some iconic cats, like maybe the icanhascheezburger cat could be one of them

Ha-ha! I know you know that TTU is doing lawn bowling (now titled "Alley Cats" as he said in his critique) but it's different enough. I disagree with Ars, the cats should be uniform as bowling pins are, though I like your idea of them having different gestures/expressions and Kat's idea, although pins don't have pin stripes but they do have collars and there are cat collars out there. So, maybe white cats with red chokers? Anyway, funny idea, keep going. Cheers!

bear in mind that the cats are oddly slanted off to the side in relation to the actual alley. if you want to have them facing the viewer frontally, change the alley.

ahh.. cute cats. totally agree about adjusting the angle of that one cat's head to make it less intense.



also, the perspective issue- if you had them lined up that way at the end of an actual alley, with maybe a dumpster/garbage cans in the foreground, and if they were (as suggested above) white cats with red collars, this could be more instantly recognizable. i look forward to next version!

great idea... def give them collars like quister suggests.

use only light colored cats, with the red collars.. great!

but keep them posing the way they are now i think... it's better not to have them sitting all the same, this is much better.

for a bowling ball (in the gutter) you can always use a ball of wool.

you've got lots of cat suggestions so I will wait to see your next version for those. For the alley... possible to draw in someone in silhouette standing in an open doorway (maybe with food)? cats stare intently at figure. Light spills from open doorway and stretches down the alley towards cats- forming the 'lane'.

Have you thought about putting red collars on them and making all the cats white? Just an idea. Would look best on a charcoal shirt.

I was planning to draw the details before the coloring, but I bow to popular pressure (in this case).

this is quite funny. i think you need some shadding in and watch the mice, the tops of their heads seem to bleed into the ball. shaddows would really help your design out though. Otherwise is funny.^^

I still think that cat at the back looks like he's got a funny neck - I'd edge him to the right a little so you could straighten it up more. Otherwise go for the shading and details cos' everything else looks fine.

great work. I can't decide whether the cats and/or bowling ball need colour- may be worth trying just to see what it looks like.

i think some basic shadows to ground them would work well too.

I only feel the mice are not placed propertly... they need a little tweak to match the perspective better and to have a more realistic relation with the ball.

looks good- id make the bowling ball black to contrast the cats- otherwise fantastic
