Here's something that came to my head when I was listening to 'Renegade'. Oh mama I'm in fear from the long arm of the law.



I tried to make the octopus's legs shaped like a hand. Hopefully that conveys the message clearly especially since he's also wearing a police cap. Used halftones for the entire image. I think it turned out good.



What do you guys think?

hey there 'd definitely suggest you define the edges a bit more make the whole image stand out a bit more.

it's not my style, but idea is not bad. Mayby change colors of octopus and litle his forme now is not easy to see thah its a arm.

I think thah background is'not neccesery and withaut bg. you can place image differently. Maybe smaller...

Thanks for the comments. Ahh, back to the drawing board again. I thought I had done a good job at his legs looking like a hand. I take it by defining the edges, you mean make the edges darker?

The concept is cool but I don't think the drawing and colors is working for it. The gun idea from a previous comment might be cool....like a dirty harry looking octopus with some aviators and a gun pointing at you with the arm and gun is a forced dramatic perspective.

I agree with defining the edges and taking another look at the colors. Maybe lose the sea bed and shadow and just have the bubbles around him. He might integrate better with the tee if he was blue like the cap. Maybe the navy tee (deep dark sea) and octo in blues and purples? If you feel you need some background other than the bubbles, try a coral reef shape way in the background. Anyway, good start, keep going. Cheers!

I think you might need to really exaggerate how long the legs/fingers/things are. You could defiantly still make them look like fingers even if they are way too long. Maybe have the octopus head in the corner with the fingers extending through the whole length of the tee. I agree that the background is necessary, the seabed at least.

it's super cute, but I think it needs more contrast and crisper edges.

I think its a great start to a potentially cool design. If the arms of the octopus were reaching over/ across the tee, grabbing a naughty fish or something it would be more engaging. Right now, you have this cute octopus but he's lacking "work". To be the long arm of the law, you need something else to hold it together.



Think- Mr Tickle, but in the form of an octopus.... do you know what i mean?

Changed the design radically. No half tones this time. Gave the octocop eight arms. Added a gun as suggested. Haha, for some reason i couldnt get the octopus to look like dirty harry so I stuck with what I had. Gave it a raised eyebrow though :) The gun needs a bit of work, Im sure. But what do you guys think now? Better, worse?

perhaps the notepad should say S.U.I instead of D.U.I though since the seahorse is swimming not driving :)

Perhaps some Haltones, I hate to put you to more work but the curve might need dome cleaning up so he looks more life like and less stiff

Also, perhaps think about a colour scheme that has close-together colours so one colour can be the other's highlight or lowlight?

hehe this is great! i agree with greententacle that the colouring could be improved. Maybe brighten up the octopus so he stands out a bit more and apply some shading. Great work though!

yep step in the right direction. im sure u already know the illo needs more work :)

definitely leaning in the right direction. Now just smooth out and clean up your lines (specifically add some depth to the whole thing by varying your line weight) and get some colour unity happening!

i think it is heaps wicked! but i agree. add some halftones and give the design some depth - then it will be really cracking! brighter colours may also work??
