Alright, so I've quickly sketched in the placement of two of the suggested elements - the milk truck, and the satellite van.

Milk truck - it will have a hose leading from it, leading to someone that will be standing at the edge of the crater, holding the hose.

Satellite truck - a satellite will eventually be added to the rooftop, as well as a small news crew around the van.

Once again, I can not stress enough that while this is colored and drawn in photoshop, it is NOT the actual design WIP. This is the sketch that I will use to re-draw EVERYTHING once I'm satisfied with the scale, placement, illo elements, colors, etc. So, save the critiques on the messy illustration style for when I get to the actual design phase.

Now, another thing - the baby will glow in the dark. But here's my question, does the glow in the dark ink have to be a certain color, or can the baby remain the shade of green I'm using and still be able to glow?

Does anyone have any issues with the placement, angles, or pose of any of the vehicles, etc?

Again, I'm completely open to any and all suggestions, ideas, etc at this point. Thanks!

Oh, and also ...

Things yet to be added in:

1. Many, many more people, including on lookers, policemen, firemen, scientists, etc

2. Smoke trailing out of the top left corner of the crater (hence the reason the big empty space on the design)

could the hose from the firetrcuk lead into the umbilical cord of the baby?

i also think you need more visual prompts as to where this scene is set... is it in the middle of a city/desert...?

very nice idea though, i think its gonna be very cute when done...

yeah, visual prompts would be nice - it could be a forest and there could be a path of trees knocked over/burnt down by the arrival of the baby? or just a desert - could get some nice colours with that

it's looking good so far, nice edition with the new cars.

as for glow in the dark, here are your options

Yeah, I've been spending the last few days working on an over all color scheme. I'm not sure if I want to go with a forest, or the city street (the current design).

I like the city street better. Just a preference. I think it makes all of the vehicles make more sense. I mean, obviously they could have all come from a city to the forest, but I think I prefer the city. Prob just personal preference. Great design.

Yeah, I agree. I played around with some forest settings, and none of them felt right. Plus, the green of the forest took away the stark contrast that I want for the green baby.

New version coming in the next few days, hopefully with some of the re-drawn line work that will reflect the final design.

u might want to add some terrain. i didnt see it as a crater at first, but as some strange looking stadium heh.

Yeah, the crater's barely been fleshed out. I just needed to quickly sketch it in there as a reference.

This is a truly great concept. Two things I would love to see though: Smoother, thicker lines; and more stuff going on around the baby (more cars, lorries, scientists etc.)

Yeah, now that I've subbed 'Hello in There', I'm going to try to get this one finished up sometime this summer. Keep in mind this was the rough sketch in photoshop, so none of the line weight, colors, way it's drawn, etc are anywhere final.

I'd like to see a helicopter airlifting in some huge building blocks or a live elephant, something for the little one to play with. This is a great idea, I can't wait for the next version.

Ah sorry, didn't realise it was just meant to be rough. Can't wait for the next version!

Hmmm it's an interesting design. There should be some toys, maybe, y'know? And yeah... That's all I got.

I love the suggestion about the helicopter, Mike. Great ideas everyone! It's been a while since I've thought about this design ... I think I'll get around to finishing it!

I'm officially reviving this. I don't like having unfinished designs just floating about! I think this could be really cool ...

Time to get to work!
