it seems that there should be something that draws your eye to the head of the giraffe.

any thoughts would be appreciated

I find it amazing how the body of a giraffe creates a city with many people and its also cool how they look like little ants living among big cliffs.

Wild and crazy idea! Looking good! Maybe roof top colors like giraffe skin. Are you thinking about another building for the head? Maybe a landscaped garden? Anyway, I'll follow the V's and try to help along the way. Cheers!

@atzh: you might have a point about ending up with a messy bunch of lines... that would be a shame (and why i only did 6 of them). these amount of doors and windows are too much, i think i will end up somewhere in between... otherwise you can't see whats going on the ground, wich is important as well.

@quister: yeah, the colors are still a bit dull now, must make them more giraffe like i think. and i i like the head to be some kind of hill behind the settlement.

I agree with atzh, Maybe make only a few houses to avoid making it messy?

Tried some real giraffe colors?
Francesa
Francesa on Apr 23 '09
Make only the few houses you have done as detailed as you have done and have less details on the receeding ones. I like the "more giraffe colors" idea.

The head could be emphasized by making it a park in brighter colors than the rest of the design or as hills.

Choose your placement carefully. This design is clever and well done so that's what's going to make or break this one.

haha dude this is awesome.. someone should make this real lol

about the colors, i agree with the 'more giraffe colors'.. it would look nicer

looks like you are moving in a great direction now, i'm just curious about the head of the giraffe, i thought it can be a little be more obvious. seems like all the attention is on the neck. :) But i really do hope to see the next version! great stuff

I like that you aren't using really bold obnoxious colors, but they could be a little better. Greys, dull yellows, and browns perhaps?

I would appreciate your vote on my design, thanks!

Its coming along. I think another color might do the trick. Tigerdog says bolder title, maybe keep the same values, but change to blues. That would make it stand out, but not in an annoying way.

Thickening all of the outlines look good too.

I (personally) don't like white tees, so I would prefer a colored shirt too...

I would appreciate your vote on my design too, thanks!

i'm sure i've seen this city in dubai somewhere ;)

very inventive, but yes be careful not to add much more little black line detail... and what about the giraffe having some leaves or something in his mouth? made from a tree or garden or...

What do you think of mine?
Jebs
   Jebs on May 09 '09
wow, i dig this one, with some patience, time, you'll make a possible winner IMO. I agree with francesca about the details , don't lose the final result in mind, which is the main focus to have. I mean, the idea of putting details especially in the foreground would be suficient maybe. i also think that the head should be perhaps a little leveled, in height, to stay in the same"3d" perspective than the houses. anyway, i will follow this nice work! (sorry for my english)

I really love your style of illustration... great concept here, hope to see some more development similar to what you show in the lower corner and placement on the shirt.

Great work as usual.

Great idea! I agree, the head needs to be leveled in height with the body. Can't wait to see the next version!

I also have much liking for this. Preferred placement from bottom left up to right shoulder, so if it's big enough there should be scope for working in more details without it getting too "messy".
