Hi,



i wanted to do something, sarcastic, corrosive, and also a way to have fun, in those tough times, beginning with this parody of the "falling rocks" sign. As i am french, i saw on google that in the states, the sign "falling rocks" is almost specific on each state, so i made it this way.



what ya think? usually, i post directly, but when i'm not sure about the welcome, i test it on critic section ;)

so what should i do lol? one of my concerns is about the sign itself, does it speak for you or should i make another form/shape of sign?



the other concern is my own english, the text is good, or can i sharpen it?

its a fantastic design. It doesnt have the effect of a sign becuz if it hasnt been pounded in our brain like a stop sign....So in order to have that halting effect you're looking4, I think u need2 exggsagerate.



it would be cool to have a giant arrow going down the tee using up all that empty space yea? Then u cud put ghost text inside the arrow, adding more significance to the image...like failing company's stock market abbreviations... =D

hey! thanks. You gave me an idea to try, i'll make a possible V2 with that trick. I will take a look at your design too ;)

So i changed the concept a little bit, but only in the graphic way. I Took away the "Golden parachute not included" font, away from the sign, and onto the tube/frame sign ( don't know the exact match of the word in english), to create this play of font/shape and illusion of a whole sign. so, V1 or v2?

the addition of the sign post in place of the words on the sign was a good move. It looks great. I don't know what the use limitations on certain fonts are but you may want to check on whatever this font is. Make sure it doesn't get rejected for that reason.

I think only the sign is enough to get it... Actual signs don't need text, and this is perfectly clear without it.

Here is a V3, fixed: The font of the sign post that is now written in the good direction. Added some banknotes in the wallet, to give it more impact.



The BIG question: With or without the text "Falling STocks"? IMO, it should be there, but just asking.

im pretty torn between the 2 heh. I think it would work well either way. i googled the signs, i guess most of them don't have any text, so that's your call then :)

I don't mind the text, but maybe a thinner font, or even slightly smaller font would work better, so it's not so "in-your-face", just a bit subdued...

hmmm, i had much more entusiasm with the V3 (v4 is an update with a less compact font, even if i have to be basic, to fit the signs typography), than the v5...does people don't get it right now, leaving the "falling stocks" subsign ?

anyway, my own idea is to share something, that's why i don't do one gender of design, but try to experiment depending on my moods ;)



your idea is fun, but (the coffee has a good taste? ^^) i think that minimalism has to be kept here. WHat you say about the straight line "post illusion" is a concern. Because i first drew it (Version 1) without the post, and i'm not yet convinced about the best way...

belt print? hmmm, i see two problems at first glance: the text is too short, except if it's repeated...to be a belt print. and, other concern: the text is now on V5 a bit "graphical", but if i make a lign belt print, it will be text all alone, and i know that on TL, it isn't appreciated ;)

So, clearcut was right, the 3D effect in the version on the right wasn't necessary.

BUT, i also still like the left version, as it has more sense, because of the sign "Falling STocks" i put originally. So, what version you prefer, right or left?

i actually like the left one as well...i'm also a big fan of lettering put off to the side of the shirt from the shoulder area down, so if you could somehow incorporate that, the shirt would look even better...but i really like the way that it is now too
