I don't think you need the text up top... nice colors and good contrast with the black/white image of the guy. What's with the bar codes at the bottom?? also... possibly not having a border around the central image would be a good thing... maybe diffuse the sun's rays with a blur effect?

2. The Bar Code is just a personal EasterEgg meaning "Cuz teh Chicks are Nude boy" in any readable font ;-)

Haha funny about the hidden message ;P I can't really read what it says at the top.. the text looks fancy but can't really be read :( I don't like the red color of the sun. The character looks like his back basically makes a straight line, looks a bit odd. I love his giant ass camera, heh. I wouldn't defuse the sun's rays with a blur effect like schwartza said (sorry) but I think you should use halftones instead ;D I can see the alpha of the beams behind the outline of the red sun as well.

haha... I don't hate borders :) just makes things too boxy, to restricted. but who knows, it might work for your final design. Looking forward to the revisions.

The text on top is not really readable in that resolution... it says "Zoom in for a Clear View" ;-)



I also thought about halftones and the outline of the sun is a simple glow effect which I should probably fix tomorrow.

box designs arent favoured by the threadless community cos it doesn't integrate well with the shirt. In general, voters like designs which blend easily with the shirt

intresting idea... but I do not think it would look good heaving the suns rays pointing only in a certain direction... I think I redo the sun and the beams so it would fit

and to mention the back of the fotoguy.. in RL on my picture it looks the same lol... i know it's kind of odd but I guess I will find a workaround

I think you are putting too many ideas into it. Glow, barcodes, text, instructions...



(and yes: no borders...)

this is WAY better than the last versions. I like what you did to the sun beams and put the bar codes around the sun. GREAT JOB!!!

I think this version is way better than all the other ones. I like what you did to the outside of the beams. I also like how you put the bar codes around the sun rather than on the bottom. That's a good improvement.

The difference between V3 and V4 is that the guy is placed a bit more left and the sun is positioned where the heart should be ;-)

well, the guy looks better in this place. and fits really good, but this guy looks "cut", look his hair on the ray of sun, and behind hisleft leg, in that places looks a little white part, i think yopur disegn would look better and clean if you erase that.

this is def the best one so far!! it is great...i agree with the rest... the picture blows out on the white sun beam behind his shoulder... maybe a thin line to help distinquish between everything....

This design is better, but the halftones are a little bit on the end, and some of them get cur off too much and look a bit funny, I think if more than half of the circle is cut off it should be replaced with a smaller circle or something? Looks a bit too cropped, mainly the bottom one that goes into the left edge. I like how the guy's legs dissolve into the halftone as well. I see you put the barcode around the sun? Heh, more subtle, I like it there better ;D Still needs some work, but getting better!

Love the improvements you've made along the way, this is extremely better than where it started and close to being ready. Any chance you can extend the sunbeams on the top up higher? While it's out of its border, it still feels confined to a rectangle.



And I'm not sure where this would fit in, but you've got orange and red, and I just feel like some yellow would really finish off your color scheme. (Maybe his flash could be igniting?). Just a thought. Looks great though as is! (Thanks for commenting on mine earlier, I appreciate it)

i think the camera and sun ray should not line up, looks too much like a bad perspective on looking into the sun. the relationship between the guy and the sun rays was better in the early versions. i also dont think the hat adds anything to it but it doent take anything away really either

i agree that the white halo looks alittle odd.

Just to show 4 different shirt colors...

And here you can see the photo guy redone in a Beige complementary color to orange (and of course still gray which looks far better than any other color I tested... gives a retro touch).



Take a look in v6 too for different shirt colors!

it's not white it's cream... the white circle is not a problem

i don't think it's an improvement that you see him standing on something you see only see a small part of.

in previous versions you saw him aiming at the center of the red dot, now he shoots over?

what if you make the red dot, the same orange as the beams, and lose the white halo?

the two things, the guy and the sun, are a totally different style... try to use one.

I think version 5 is the best... and add your bar codes back around the sun - it gives if a different feel for the sun rays...

Try making the man part of the shirt color rather than a strange color that is similar to it. Use the negative space.

I'm not really qualified to guess what would be popular on Threadless but as far as the design goes:



I like the birds best so far. It's more connected to the photographer and makes me feel like something is happening or about to happen. Right now, the birds and photographer are about the same size. You might try playing with the scale and making the birds huge compared to the man. If you do that, also consider giving the birds more detail and less stylized (because the man is pretty literal).



Lastly, what about tree branches? Get rid of the scafolding the man is standing on and instead perch him on a tree branch. Then, not only is something happening but it is unexpected.



But what do I know?

I personally think this one is an improvement. I like the contrast of colour with the sun beams, however this t-shirt makes more sense to me. you've got more of a concept forming with the birds and I like that you can see what he is standing on.



I think it would be cool to have him and the birds in the sunshine circle, centered like in v9. Although you'd have to fade the red sun or have the birds completely block the sun, if you understand what I mean.



There's a possibilitie it may look too clustered but I'd give it a go.

Oooh, I agree with the person above, have him perched on a branch, as long as you can see what he's standing on I think it works better.

I think the person and the birds should have the same style.

To be honest I like version 8 the best. The hat and the image within an image does nothing for me.

It doesnt even make sense, the colors dont match, and from the perspective of the camera man he isnt pointing at the sun or whatever that is

to make it clear... the man is a original photo taken during the Worldgames 2006 in Duisburg, Germany where the guy took pictures of the Wakeboard contest. I abstracted him a bit but I was eager to keep some details ;-)
