it's a bit hard to tell what's going on. (more frost and ice would help)

the souls don't really seem frozen. (maybe they should be shivering?)

Maybe some breath coming from the devil's mouth like on a chilly day?

nah i got the reference - there's just something about the guy's pose that makes him kind of expectant... like if he was holding a wedding ring you could then connect a request to the answer. something like that. does that make sense?

I like this. I would say get rid of the bunny slippers and make the devil a little more evil looking. Right now he just looks like a normal guy painted red. Also I not only got teh title I thought it was great.

After looking at your design I'd say, you should definitely try add some more icy details to really convey that hell has indeed frozen.



I also agree with another comment that the devil looks "too" human. Not to say that he couldn't because there are so many different incarnations of him. I would say maybe play up more to a devil with a pitchfork and pointed tail, or just incorporate some of those ideas into him. I've always been a huge fan of the devil with goat-esque characteristics. It has a nice pagan flair to it. Anyways just a rambling suggestion there.



Religious based stuff is all about symbolism and the devil is marked by christian and pagan symbols alike. I think if you incorporate some of those iconic things into your piece that would make the piece resonate more with people.



You might include more blue into the overall design and take out some of the black and grey, which are cold but not in a frigid, snow way.



Finally my last observation is that there is something a little odd about the way the right wing lays over the devil's body. Wings are so hard to do, especially bat-like ones! I guess I am just not getting that "bones and tissue" feel from it because it has a sort of unnatural bend. I'd look at some bat wings as a reference.

Wild idea. Very creative execution and nice drawing style. I particularly like the way you have chosen to show us the design. I say submit as is. I think it would do very well.

I agree with Robot Pickle though, I think the Devil should have more of a sarcastic/laughing grin just to drive the point home

make the devil wear ear muffs and a scarf and look more sarcastic.

The idea is that the devil is pouting because hell is frozen over - no flames to torment the souls in. I can't reconcile a laughing grin with that in my head.

Hmm... I had to read the comments to totally get the frozen part of it. I think conveying the icyness could be enhanced by some bits of ice on the platform and stairs, possibly. I agree with some of the others about possibly unifying the shading style of the devil compared to the souls. Maybe a toque and scarf on the devil could also enhance the humor/frozen aspect? Just tossing ideas out there.

coloring is very cool. remebers me on former video games. more frozen structures are needed to bring the idea selfrunning. maybe a blue tee could help.

I love the slippers. sweeeeet. I also adore the design cause it reminds me of some sort of a cut scene from an oldschool computer adventure game.



I would suggest wreathing the demon in flames and adding freeze cracks to the victims .

It's a little too detailed and realistic for the humor to be effective. It's more scary less funny...

i like it. i think it might be too subtle, though. perhaps the devil needs more than just slippers? im also a bit worried that religion will be an iffy topic for humour. im not sure if having the souls might be a bit too dark? maybe the devil could just be watching tv in a grisly dungeon? or maybe there are two devils and one is walking in on the other one taking a tray of cookies out of the oven?
