my first design was similar, it needs to be something new that has never been seen.

thanks for the feedback. i was going for something graphic and minimal, but maybe that's not what it wants to be? know of anyone on threadless that has been more successful doing something similar (trying to make the shirt itself into an object rather than placing a design on a shirt) that i could take a look at as a reference?

oh, didn't even think of the obey giant. is it too similar? don't want it to be like that at all. just wanted it to be a friendly monster.

I love these giant,simple designs but they tend not to fare so well here.

definitely need to work on the color palette, especially with that shirt color. If you're going to be so minimal, color choice become a big element. Not sure if it needs an outline, though you might want to try shrinking the design a bit on the shirt.

I think that vestboy had a good comment about facial color. Maybe choose a fleshy colored T-Shirt.

detail with new colors

tried some new colors. see v2 for a detail. thoughts?

i wanted to go with a green shirt (more of an ogre's skin color) but i don't like the greens threadless offers, at least in the illustrator template, maybe there are more now. is there a more current set of shirt colors posted somewhere? i was hoping for a mint color. so, decided to go with another soft pastel. don't think it works. i may like it better on the original white background.

I prefer the original. I find these colours a bit jarring.

It looks like a dog - was that the intention. Try making it more dog coloured with perhaps a little more detail?

re: colors, i agree. have to try something different. i'll take another stab at it and try adding some detail to the design. thanks for the help, Bramish.



so far the response hasn't been very positive (2 for needs work and 1 for don't submit) so this design might go back on the idea shelf soon. thanks for all the honest feedback!

if you want to make the shirt to be a part of the work it could help when you try something crossing the edge of the shirt like the teeths of the bone shirt you posted.

i like this, but im not sure about the colors..

have you considered uv ink ?

i think that would rule, this looks good but I would have to say that the teeth are a bit too different from the rest of the design, you should figure something else out for that
