I don't really like beets but I'll make an exception for this one.

Also I was debating whether or not I should add a mouth on the beet or not.

I like it without the mouth, but I would write the text if I was you. Since you didn't create it, you could get into a lot of trouble using it.

oh my, I guess I need to check the usage rights of my fonts. really cute idea and I think your own handwriting would actually add a lot of charm to it.

I really like the idea, but think you could pull it off better. the text just looks slapped on there. I'd try to pull it off without text at all. Just get some plain old paper and pencil and try and draw a bad ass beet, get everything worked out and then move to the computer.
