bulletsalvador on Jun 01 '07
if you could some how present the bunnies a better way...
for example more cute, more real, or more cartoony. good luck |
Sparra on Jun 01 '07
This was supposed to come up on a black T-Shirt so not quite sure what happened there.
bulletsalvador on Jun 01 '07
you still need to go back to the drawing boards. if you submit this image i won't be surprised if you score below 1.5

Sparra on Jun 01 '07
Thanks for taking the time to comment bullett. Would you mind expanding a little on what you mean? Cheers!

i had this idea for a shirt but not being a designer or having the time its never gonna happen. I think to truly emulate the whole warhol thing it needs to be a lot more like it and I think an animal in cartoon form is too far removed from that, you don't know thats what you are angling for without knowing the name of the t shirt. I'd pick out a person, iconic or ironic but not done before...am I making sense?
Sparra on Jun 01 '07
Thanks bigcog, I get exactly what you mean. I was not trying so much to emulate warhol but to take his base idea of how he interchanges his colours over one design/person , simplyfy it and apply it to something totally un-warhol like. Bit of a spoof on the whole thing really. Whether it works or not is a totally different matter!

i don't know your skill or expertise in drawing but usually threadless prints usually go to the unusual designs, or extremely cute, emo, witty and stuff like that.
my recommendation for you is do the best you can with what you know. if at all possible stick to your style be open to "borrow" other peoples techniques. |
Sparra on Jun 01 '07
I'm a complete newbie on here and have only been aquainted with threadless for a few hours. Thanks for the advice bullett!

i Like it :]

You need a better bunny or try something else. To break away from the norm maybe try making a slight difference in each to like weird you out and draw you in. Your tones are also very bright make them more warmy.

Sparra on Jun 01 '07
Thanks very much... Those are very specific ideas i can work with. Thanks again.

Sparra on Jun 01 '07
The bunnies are back! Toned down the colours and played with the position a bit. Changed the direction they were looking in too. Better - yes,no? Be honest I have rhino hide!

itsmeriz on Jun 01 '07
Coulors are pretty good now, not what i was thinking but it really draws you in from the black. I dont know if eyes are noticable enough?? Maybe its just coz its small. If your adament on using that bunny pic you need to fix it up. Needs to have a cute factor. The right ear looks like its pointing to something. That might be something to change. Im just chucking in ideas!!!
Good Luck |

Sparra on Jun 01 '07
Blimey kiddo you sure are keeping me busy! LOL! I take it you want to be a graphic designer when you leave school?
Sparra on Jun 01 '07
Okay so this is now nothing like a warhol rip-off but I think that the point here is to take suggestions onboard and let the design evolve! Question is...does this work better now????? Please do post your thoughts!

Sparra on Jun 01 '07

ilovetomasb on Jun 01 '07

Sparra on Jun 01 '07
Oh dear! I feel responsible for the decline in another human beings mental health! Maybe this bunny should go into the pot. Watch for the next version :O)

lenabean on Jun 01 '07
hey one foot is missing a pink spot
also the bellybutton is scary |
Sparra on Jun 01 '07
Hey! Whats with the belly button comment? We all have one...! Lol.
Sparra on Jun 01 '07
At least its an innie and not an outie! :O)
Sparra on Jun 03 '07
Okay so this is now NOTHING like the original. Some comments would be good thanks!
itsmeriz on Jun 03 '07
Like the idea!
Food for thought....Witches brew??? So maybe a change in the pot and hand. Flames need some work, no outlines, some wood maybe. Like how the words go though you need to find a better font. |
Sparra on Jun 03 '07
I can work with the font. You need to take a look at the comment I made to someone else on the other entry though because not so sure you get the 'bunny boiler' reference either (?) Apologies if you do and I read things in wrong.
ilovetomasb on Jun 04 '07
ok ur bunny is still freaking me out, and it doesnt make me feel any better that hes about to be boiled like peter rabbit.
mr mcgregor and his wife used to boil bunnies.. |
ilovetomasb on Jun 04 '07
it reminds me of matt groening's artwork. this is a bunny that belongs in a simpson ep
steviec on Jun 04 '07
I liked your first idea, but I'm imagining close-up shots of bunny heads with different frame colours, like the Marilyn Monroe image. That would be funny!
Sparra on Jun 05 '07
Cheers Steve! I was sort of loosley basing it on the Marilyn thing and I like your suggestion a lot so will give that one a go. The bunny boiler was never suppossed to be a serious entry I just had fun doing it...don't tell anyone :oD
Sparra on Jun 05 '07
Opps. Posted that twice and lost the comment. So this is heading back along the lines of the original idea. Steviec was this what you were envisioning? Please let me know in detail. I much prefer only seeing a portion of the bunny though.
steviec on Jun 05 '07
Yeah, this is much more like it! The smaller bunny portion makes it look almost neurotic - very funny!
Sparra on Jun 05 '07
Any other suggestions mate? Someone earlier did say mute the colours but I'm a bit ambivilant about that one. It take that whole 'in your face' element away.
steviec on Jun 05 '07
Nah, anything else is just personal taste. I think the cartoon-y colours match the image. Do you think you're ready to chance your luck with the voters?
Sparra on Jun 05 '07
Well I don't know. I've only been putting stuff on here for a few days and yours is the first comment that hasn't left me with the feeling of plummetting head first out of the sky with black smoke billowing out of my arse! LOL! (Is arse a banned word on this site?)
steviec on Jun 05 '07
No, I think arse is encouraged!
Good luck! |
Sparra on Jun 05 '07
Hahahahaha! Thank you for the encouragement and giving me back the will to live (arse and all!) Have even put up another pic to get slapped down on!!!
