I'm kicking around this idea. Thoughts? Not sure if the disressed area is working - not sure if I like the iron. I'm thinking this would fill the shirt.

I kinda like the iron - I thik the distressing could use a little work. smaller cracks maybe?



Also I'd like to see how it looks on a shirt.

Maybe he could fade out like smoke instead of crackling?

I could do that...but one of the whole points was that I wanted him to be worn away.

I'm thinking the crack might be a little thick? Like the idea though.

Haha, this looks really cool. The cracks could be a bit smaller tho. He looks a bit more smuged than wrinkled.. Maybe another ghost on a ironing board?

Ha! I do actually like the idea of an ironing board. It would just strike me as incredibly funny to see a ghost diligently hunched over and board, ironing its sheet, but maybe that's just my dorky sense of humor. This is a really cute idea, and I love the colors you chose!

I love the concept of a ghost ironing himself, too. I agree that the crackles look more like crackles, and i'd like them to look like wrinkles.

I like it. I think it misses something to be complete, though, I'm not sure what. I thought may be you could throw in a table for him to iron on. Then again it may be a bad idea, I don't know...

Nice! Only now the top half of the ghost doesn't look as realistic as the bottom half. Maybe some texture or shadows on the top half?

Gotcha! Maybe I'll do a version with texture all over and then just make it a little lighter on the top half.

Messed with the levels a little. Hopefully the wrinkles look more integrated?

Any thoughts about the steam?

this is really a fantastic idea man, GREAT! but I think it'd do better if the top part of the ghost were drawn a little better, especially his eyes/arms, and maybe the iron too. Also maybe the steam should be coming out of the holes in the iron instead of just randomly above it, but like I said the idea is FABULOUS!

Thanks for the comments Olie! Just to clarify - are you thinking the top needs to be drawn better (as in cleaned up), or more realistically? Just curious.

I'm wondering if it wouldn't work better if the whole thing was illustrated, or the whole thing was based on a scan. There's still some weirdness where it becomes wrinkly.

I only think you need to do a little cleaning up in the top half. The fact that there are no wrinkles up there makes sense to me though. Just smooth out some of the lines?

It might be cooler if the bottom of the ghost looked like wrinkled fabric instead of wrinkled paper since he's gonna iron it...but it's cool, I really like it :)

Critique Mine here

Cute! But three thoughts.

Irons have steam coming out of the holes in the bottom so they will steam the fabric into submission.

Have the wrinkles look like cloth wrinkles instead of paper wrinkles.

Make the wrinkles end in an "iron" shape, where the ghost has finished the upper part.

Completely redrawn and re-done. Took a lot of your advice, but personally I like the sharpness of the paper wrinkles so I didn't try to change them to fabric.
