The re-work has begun! It got tee of the day over at emptees, but I feel like there is a lot to improve to the design.

Your art is incredible, but I think this design should be limited to several colors and on a solid shirt. The look on emptees looked like one of those War of Warcraft tees with the nebula background. I think it would be more appealing to most if the shirt was just black. I don't think the cloud city is necessary either. I know you're going for perspective but I think it would look better w/o it.

Cool! I like the look of the original design, I'm looking foward to seeing the redesign. The big-foot monster thing has a far better face in this version, though I'm not convinced about the robot's wrecking ball/mace type thing in either version. It seems a little bit clumsy compared to the rest of the picture. But still, this should be sweet.

no seriously, i think williami is right about the mace hand. it could be much more imposing/robto-y. maybe a claw, flame thrower, giant axe, or even just a larger spiked ball to give it some added 'weight'.



I think it would be cool if the ape had pupils glaring at the robot, even while squinting during the blast.

I think the original has such a great sense of scale due to the large amount of empty space between the two brawling figures, this sketch has them closer together and hence its more cramped and less epic

thanx guys, yeah I like the original as well thats why iw ant to rework it, has too much stuff I want to change, plus the linework is not that great, and now with my new tablet I feel like I can do a lot better with the coloring as well.

I think you should try a dark tee color (navy blue maybe) to use it for the lines color this will make it look very integrated... and also, the secondary elements (city) could be monocromatic using a couple of shades not to distract the attention from the main characters.

I liked the more cartoony face of the giant ape in the original. And it looks like the robot is totally getting owned... Maybe you could add lasers firing at the monkey?

Looks cool, I really like the retro style robot you've got there. Another cool addition might be a plane that gets caught between their battle or something like that....kind of showing a little more of the destruction from this epic battle, but either way I think it will turn out really nice.

lose the tiny buildings at the bottom and make the buildings in scale with the monsters and surrounding them.

Looks great so far, just one minor thing is that as is it looks like the ape monster just got a bullet through is head instead of a missile behind it

do you think maybe having it show more of the missile?

that might help with the bullet looking problem, and I think when it's colored in the lack of blood spatter/loose skin etc. the the uniform color of the hair etc. should help clear it up.

For the missile thing, I think showing more of it would work, but also it looks like it pulled and rippled the ear on its way out. Maybe if you drew the ear less, you know, bubbly. Also I think you should show more of the ape's eyes- like, contort it less, but that's more because I liked your original ape face.

i'd say the robot already won, if he just sent a missle through kong's brain. maybe have it going behind, or in front of the head, to make this fight less one sided?

the way the moon is positioned (and with no color), it sort of looks like a part of the robot's body or backpack apparatus. maybe it can go higher in the sky, to sort of mirror the spiked ball hand.

Dude, all you need to do with the missile is delete some of the hairs behind the ear. Leaving a negative trace of where the missile flew through.

the last one was great. This is the best.

I think when I color the moon it will not look like part of the robot as well. but if it still does after the color version then Ill fix it up

d you guys think the moon would work better somewhere else? thats where I had it the first time, and I thought it worked fine but if it really bothers people I can redraw it somewhere else

dont want it too high since the higher portion of the piece is more space

i'd personally add some white for giving the robot and the clods some nice white shades/shines. Other than that, it's pretty amazing man!

yeah I wanna use some white highlights too but I ran outta colors with the 8 colors

Imma use the moon color - yellowissh to add highlights, and also the orange to reflect the color from the lares and fire etc

or maybe I can replace the linework with the tcolor, ummm Imma try that, to try somethign different and add a different color :)

I think if it gets printed you should make the highlights on the ape the brighter yellow, it would place it more firmly in the scene

or like a mix of the washed out and brighte ryellow, the colouring on the robot came out really nice!

Awesome. Robots are my favorite. Are you planning on including the stars? If so, you'll probably need to make them graphic like the rest. Moon under the robot's butt is sort of weird placement. Also, how will you terminate the bottom cloud area once on the shirt? Good luck, you have my 5$ vote!

I love it- especially the fierceness of the apes face and the obvious damage his body has taken from this epic battle- THE ONLY thing I do not like is the planet which looks like it is part of the robot's ass or something. It is a lovely detail but maybe it doesn't need to be there--
