The game is played in a circle. Maybe your ducks and goose should be in a circle (oval?) instead of a grid.

this is awesome. Try playing around with it a bit more, like a circle and maybe change the last 3 ducks around.

nice. definitely digging the idea. i agree with the suggestion about putting it in a circle.

I'd like to see them in a circle, a straight line, or maybe an arc. I think I'm going to end up preferring the grid though, simply b/c it is a more efficient use of space.

What if they circled the bottom of the shirt?

i think this is perfect, i see nothing that needs to be changed!

I changed out a couple of ducks and made it a little tighter. I also took out the white highlights on everything except the goose to make it stand out a little more.

Different layout. Using the circle suggestion. It looks better than I thought it would, but I think I prefer the stacked version still...thoughts?

I love V2

Perhaps make them closer together, as if they are all in a group on the same level/plane...this would tie it closer to the game concept as well. Or go crazy and put the ducks and goose in a belt print all around the torso and much bigger!

I like v3 better. It adds nice symmetry to the image.

Perhaps add a few more highlights on the goose to make it pop out more.

Tongue Tied

I love this. Mainly because I didn't know there were so many species of ducks...and your shirt 'learned me something new'. XDGotta love that.

I miss the highlights on the ducks. They looks so flat with out them. I think that the goose facing in the opposite direction(plus the simple fact that it's goose) is enough to make it stand out.



I like both layouts, but I slightly prefer the grid since it doesn't leave a blank hole in the middle of the shirt.



Can we see a line?

The goose could be a bit bigger, the canada geese around here tend to be about twice as tall as the ducks.

Now that I see the circle version, definitely prefer the grid version, but what if you put the goose randomly inbetween ducks in the design and din't end with it? It's just a suggestion to see how it would work or if the goose stood out more.. if you did that maybe put a little more white on the goose to stand out?

I like the circle version, maybe just tighten it like said before. Or what if it were to go around the whole shirt?

the circle composition kind of begs for something to be in the middle, but i don't know what.

and i like the stacked layout because, reading from top to bottom, left to right, you think in your head "duck duck duck duck duck duck Goose" for better thematic "closure".

I'm working on a version with them in a line. I really like the idea of circling them around the shirt... (which probably requires drawing more ducks, lol)



Also I did them monochromatic on purpose. But I'm thinking...do the ducks need color?

I think the goose should be in back (reading left to right from front), and it would be taller naturally...that way you could do the entire thing in one color or all colored, the height will be the key.

I like it, but it's the kind of visual gag that I think needs to be presented all together - not wrapping around. Exclamation mark on v4 is my fave combo so far.

i'm still a v2 hold out. but maybe with a bit tighter composition.

V3 Tighter together and oval.

not a big fan of 2, sorry sam. just a bit lame to me. like it's trying too hard to be cool - if that makes any sense. This version is nice, but doesn't make much sense if you only see one side of the shirt. I do like exclamation point and love simplicity in the third version.

I agree that the gag works best when everything's presented together. With the design wrapping, someone looking at the front would think it was just an LL Bean shirt or something, but this is such a cute idea and I love the illustration, so my vote is for v5, but use the current backside design on the front and leave the back blank.
