I had this design idea a few years back and I finally got around to drawing it up, I wanted to see what the community thought of my idea before I went on. I am not considering submitting this as is, I have a few more ideas in store for this but I just want some feedback from people who know what they are doing.

I don't know about the string on the Earth. The design is awesome and I think adding colors would make it a definite print.

Not sure if I know what I'm doing at all but anyway :)



It's a nice concept and Threadless has shown that it can be quite partial to these 'pretend' designs. One thing to keep in mind is that this would probably require belt printing if done in this size, and I suspect that means you'll have to keep it within one or two colours at most, and be prepared for registration issues ie the colours may not match up 100%. I could be wrong though - go find out before you take the colouring too far.



Also, the clouds look a bit like intestines at the moment!

Any reasoning to not knowing about the string? Not that I'm questioning about your feedback, just so I can improve.

I just don't think it adds anything to the design. I think the design would look better with it in the middle on its own.

I could always change my title to "head in the intestines" =D thanks, I'll be sure to improve the clouds, I like belt printing idea a lot, if I choose to do that I will use more black, right now I am debating on color, so I left it blank and just line work.

Okay it did not allow me to save my info about this, I took out the string, and tried my best to make the clouds look less like intestines. I also had the fire interact with the earth in my spin on global warming. Let me know what you think of it and enjoy.

I like this version a lot better. I would still like to see color if possible, but this shirt is awesome.

I ran some colors, but since it's gonna be belt printed minimal color doesn't give it a good effect. If it was smaller it would be covered in color but I like the size.

I dig it joel, you gonna wrap this all the way around the back? that would be pretty sweet!

Yup, it's gonna be a front and back, the reverse side of the earth, etc. I'll redraw the clouds and maybe the flames, I want it to be unique and original.

I reckon it would work well as a belt print! The earth dripping is a nice touch too, infact the attention to accuracy with the whole globe is great

the opposite side of the earth for the backside is a lot harder to draw but i think it turned out well, look for a V3 tomorrow.

And thanks for noticing the accuracy, I free drew it using an old globe at home as reference.

Here's some more progress. I plan to redraw the clouds and fire on the back, I just wanted to let people see what I was doing and give you all an idea of what I have in my mind. Leave me some good feedback!

I see someone stayed up late and couldnt resist finishing the design, looks great. Id wear it !!! I would like to see the clouds come all the way into the sleeves though and with a belt print you might as well do it.

why is there fire if it's about having ur head in the clouds? If it was head in the clouds... There're no clouds above the atmosphere...

Haha, thank you steven, I always appreciate negative feedback, just as long as it makes sense of course. This design has come a long way from the original, which was a sketch I did in high school of the earth dangling from a string between heaven and hell. That explains the clouds and fire, I got rid of the string because along with myself several people agreed that it didn't add anything to the design. I kept the clouds and fire because it fills out the space and I felt it added a certain quality that would maybe set my design out. As with the color option, what is acuarella, and I'd like to put color on it but my attempts at color are lacking.

It might just be me, but since it's just black & white and lots of negative space you could beef up the design with some stronger line variance, especially the clouds and fire. Could the space around the earth be a middle gray?

Thanks religuum, I worked up some different line variance ideas but it seemed to not make the particular style and personality of the picture, the same felt with color for all you color supporters, I am thinking about changing the lines to a different color but belt printing does not allow me to work freely with colors. If you have another idea for how to color it with belt printing please let me know because I am in no way turning away this feedback, I simply have not manipulated, I really just want my first submission to be a good one haha. Suffering from perfectionism doesn't help either.

bumpy bumpy, and note that it probably won't be colored because it will have to be belt printed and the colors won't line up, but any other feedback will be great.

Hopefully this is the winner. I added more clouds, I darkened the lines, and I added some long sleeve detail incase thats how they want to print it. Let me know what you think.

Can't color it, gonna be belt printed. *plays broken record* haha. Trust me that V5 won't be colored but it's a much better idea than color.
