The linework is nice, but it looks really boxy, you need to find the way to let the background and the illustration merge in a smother way.

I agree. Find a way to release the design from its box.

I agree with Petanca. Also, I don't know if you were intending to keep the white edges around the lines... I would probably get rid of that. A quick way to do so would be to Select: Select by color and use the eyedropper to select white. Then adjust the little arrow to how much of the white you wish to take out. Then hit ok.

Question... are you going to have absolutely no white in it? If you keep the white, it might become 6 colors.

hey Vlad, i made another version of my Birds Whistle

yeah i'm taking out the white valor, it'll be 5 colors,

the white would just look bad

u should of used the highest detail setting when you scanned it

That's good that you're taking out the white. I'm not so sure if the black outlines will show up very well on the brown shirt... I'd say finished up what you're doing and if it doesn't look like there's enough contrast for the outlines, then it should be pretty easy to swap out the colors for something else.

I would also say that you should consider the left and right sides. Perhaps find ways of tapering off the hills or do something so it's not an extreme vertical line. Take a look at The Hills Have Eyes since it's sort of a rectangular composition, but still manages to not look like a box.

too many colors. great design! i agree with making it less of a box. i'm working on some more artistic designs, and i'm gonna update an old design (A Flock of Dogs).

Make it not rectangular. Extend the building out to the right, add some form on the left and bottom. I'm really digging this design. But in this state it looks like a page of a sketchbook stamped on a shirt.

I agree about losing the boxiness. I really don't like the colours, but the style is pretty cool. I'd like to see it with a different colour scheme.

The sketch is good, but lose the colors, and try to clean it up, then recolor with a better scheme.
