great concept.... this is one I would love to see with a lot of drama.. and not so cartoony.. but that is just me.. lots of people like cartoons...



Any chance of just getting more done with the eyes and the tear? The tear looks like something hanging out of the hole instead of an eye welling up and over with grief...



Really a great concept.. one of the best I have seen... It is so sad... if you could get some beauty in it too.. it would be a real heart wrencher... imho.

Personally I think you should give it a mouth or something to make its face into something more.

so I think this has potential, you should not have any color in the grass though, the cut off of green does not fit well, that or give it a faded out look. Also maybe try to make the colors that are used on the trees a little more washed out, so it blends with the shirt better :D

I added detail to some parts to try and finish it off some more. Let me know what you think!

if the placement is central and the design is blown up to size, then i think the overrall shape should be made more interesting cause currently its a bit awkward.



or the lone tree up on the left/right of chest looking at the destruction on the bottom of the tee?

I totally favor sand on alot of shirts. I think it goes well here.



One thing that bothers me is behind the stump , to the left, the empty patch.. it looks like the upper grass line going across the rest of the design should continue past the stump.

I redrew the entire thing. Recolored it with lower tones and tried to make a frame for the entire thing. What do you all think?

You improved this alot with the pale colors. It looks alot better than when I saw version 1!



It looks great with the background but I think you should break up the frame some. I liked the jagged grassy bottom edge you had going before... Maybe if you put that jagged grassy look around a rough circle it might not look unnatural and help frame up the design

I like the tree extending out of the circle, and I agree that the grass should do the same thing.



Also, sap is more of an amber color. (That's, basically, what amber is: hardened sap.)

i say try with out the 2 circle maybe just one but apart from that its good work

The shadows cast by the tree and the stump seem a little too dark to me...

Here is another rev, i changes the color of the tear to a sap color. and also fixed the shadow under the stump. I also centered the design on the shirt.

Great illustration and concept...

maybe you could put more stumps in... this might add more drama to the situation (a forest has more than one tree :P ). Even if you put them them behind the hill with just the tops showing so the focus is still on the tree and stump at the front :)

Wow super morbid, looks pretty cool. I would maybe drop the outline in the bits where it's supposed to be shadow.



Agreed maybe more trees would make it more massacre-esque.

did the tree sneeze? cool drawing style. i don't think you need the color changing circle. one color would look better in my opinion. that might take some experimenting to get the right one - it's either close or right on as it is. plus i think the texture on the underside of the tree should just be continued all the way up the tree. lose the demarcation line through the middle of the tree's leaves. or i guess lose the underside texturing. oh. i see. its like its alone and its friend got cut down? my advice: make sure that's painfully clear. i should be giving myself advice. my designs are in serious trouble. good luck
