My idea was to have the gun detailed and the critters cartoon. Is that working?

Okay, you caught me. I didn't finish cleaning up the cat til I saw if the design was acceptable.

I like it/think its funny. The animals both need to be worked up a bit in my opinion. Animals give me trouble as well, I can never figure out how to graphically depict fur well. Also, the place feels a tad awkward.



Perhaps try having them not flat along the ground line, but receed back a bit?

Added another mouse with footprints to show he led the cat into an ambush.

The shadows turn black on the charcoal gray shirt.

the mouse foot prints arent very clear. maybe a trail of catnip with a labeled bag nearby?

the gun doesn't quite match the style of the cat and mice, also the cat's eyeline doesn't quite match up with the barrel of the gun, its almost like kitty is looking more at the mice than the gun....

have a mouse towards the front of the gun, holding it steady. and yes, make the tracks more clear. Getting closer.

LOL, awesome. Have you considered doing a design of what happened a few seconds later? I know, but I want to see it : )

Mouse has a bell to help lure the cat.

Hi! Cool design, I see earlier some people were saying that the gun doesn't quite match, the only thing I see there is that the definition of the outline of the gun could be enhanced to make it a similar look to the remainder of the drawing. The other thing is that the bell is a little small to be easily seen, maybe make it a toy mouse?

I love the mice! But the cat seems a bit lacking. I think the difference in line weight (the cat I'll bet was drawn about the same size as the mice and then blown up or vice versa) also makes the image seem disjointed. The gun needs to be a bit rougher cos it's too smooth and doesn't fit the cat or the mice.



Maybe try something else other than that big cat.

I just had a funny thought after looking at this design for a bit. Cats chase those little red laser dots everywhere. Maybe you remove the bell and add a laser to the middle of his head.



It looks as though you sketched the mice and cat and found clip art of the gun. I would draw the gun in the same way you have drawn the animals.

This is so adorable...in a rodent comeuppance sort of way :) I agree that the differing stroke weights lend a disjointedness to things, but it would be an easy fix and otherwise the design is awesome!
