I've always wondered whether the tetris blocks were happy to dissapear into nothing...

I like the action of the Samurai and the blood splatters, but Im not sure about the blocks or the word...'shwing'? I know that's probably close to what a cutting sword makes but it sounds a bit 'wrong', if you know what I mean...perhaps 'schlick' or even try leaving out the word.



Are those eyes on one block? Perhaps the Samurai could be cutting through something more pertinent, funny or aesthetically captivating.



Also, maybe you could see what movement lines look like, from the Samurai rushing past.

what is he cutting? a skyline?

maybe get rid of the eyes on the blue blocks. and are they tetris blocks? how bout something else.

well... yeah the idea of Tetris blocks "losing their legs" is kinda the point of this, is it not apparent?

Kind of gorey for no reason to me. Why are the tetris blocks bleeding? I don't like it on yellow either...white or natural would look better

V2 - cleaned up a little and made it clearer that they're tetris blocks. The poor tetris blocks live to be cut down, give them a little love guys :)

V2 - Killer man, I'm glad you colored the blocks, V1 was kinda like "WTF is he cutting?"

Def like V2 better but my only concern is that it may be too high and alot of it would be covered by your armpit.

its a little bit more clear in V1 that he is cutting all the way through because you had blood patter in the middle of the cut on the back. Color is way better on this version though but the blood spatter on V1 is better.

i agree with chewbaqqa, the blood should follow the design more to emphasize the slicing motion, and i was alos thinking does it necessarily need to be a wrap around? i'd like to see it at the bottom of the tee on the front

but i really like the concept, great take on the tetris theme, tweak the visuals and placement a bit more and i'll be scoring it high in the sub section

Tweaked colours and spacing so the "cut" is more obvious...



What do you think between option 1 and 2? One's simpler and 2's bigger and more interesting... I'm torn~!!

option 2, definitely. i'd just prefer it if the blood clashed less with the orange tee... i'd either change the hue of blood a bit or shirt color...

Some blocks are supposed to be the same color as each other, like the 2x2, 1x4 and "T" block.



Other that that, great design + art.

Awesome, not sure why a Samuri would attack tetris blocks, but it still looks cool!



InvincibleAgent - there are a lot of different versions of Tetris:

If we were to geek it up to the max, the IBM version prior to the original NES game shows each shape with a different colour. So the design is still valid.

If you wanted to be really hardcore, I'd recommend the level 9 colors from the NES version. That's what people remember.

Wow there's just way too many colour variants over the ages that I don't really think it's important to stick to any one of them. The colour scheme works for itself not for tetris :P

Love the style of the illustration and the concept. Not sure how it will be accepted by the greater Threadless audience, but it seems that is always up in the air. Surely it's worth a shot. Good luck!

Man, that is one pissed off samurai, but I feel his pain... never could stand Tetris. I would wear this.

Love the idea. It's fun and novelty to have that design wrap around the back, but for this specific design is it necessary or superflous? I would also try playing with the colors a bit (both shirt and pieces).

I like the wrapping idea, but i think you may want to keep both options in for submission.
