I always thought the Deer had something "Elite". So this is my tribute to this great animal. Luxurious elements meet the Deer.

Should I get this coloured, keep it outlined..? I'm thinkin' about putting the "Luxurious Animals / The Deer" in the neck on the back.

Any tips are always welcome!

I would like to see it with some soft colour, or maybe darken up parts of it.

to me, the whole point seems to be that it's uncoloured. luxurious and made of crystal. keep it as is.

I will colour this one of these days but ginette is right.. The mainpoint would be that it'd stay uncoloured.. But anyway, it's not that big of a work to colour this in.

Somethings like his hat and the frame seem a little to light.

I wouldn't color it! It's beautiful. I would just work on varying some of the line weights so it has more depth.

This is lovely... the line work is spot on and I think it looks great on the tee. I personally would remove the "Luxurious Animals/The Deer" text (or put it on the back neck as you suggested) - I think it detracts from the "Mr Deer" nameplate, which says it all by itself in a more subtle and humourous way. If you were going to add colour, I think it should be subtle, either in desaturated tones (which would still give the effect of black and white, but just with a little warmth or cooling, kinda like an old faded hand tinted photograph) or with a few glints of brighter colours, like when you look at a diamond (following on from ginette's thoughts of crystal.)

Just some ideas - I think it's great.

I like this 95489053 times better than the b&w version. Amazing job. The only thing that looks off is his ears. It's not a big deal they just don't look as detailed.

Yeah, you're right.. The problem is I have to stick with the 8 colours but I'll improve the ears when I have time for it! This is only the beginning so.. ;) But thanks a lot again!

well, although i still prefer he elegance of the b/w one i'm actually surprised at the colouring job. it looks a lot better than i thought it could.

if possible though, i'd suggest making a presentation with both options (b/w, which might make it more accessible for threadless to print, and the colour version for those who like things to look a bit more finished), and letting the public decide.

Colored. It just looks more proper.

i meant like, when you submit it give two options. sometimes that gives you better votes over all.

there have been a few winners (and lots of well designed shirts in general) that have come with options during the voting process (most of the time people have different placement options but colour options make it available to a wider audience)



but if you're asking, i'd have to pick the white one.

I wish I could illustrate like this.

I think they're both worth of merit, but I found it easier to see what was going on in the coloured one.
