I used to do bird watching, and at the time I sketched various birds I liked from books, etc.



I thought I'd try to compose something to a tee.

some texture to the drawings would be cool. Maybe some background half-tones to look like graphite smudges or something.

I've added some charcoal background to two birds. Just to get a feel of the shadow, if this is better. I'm smudging charcoal manually for each bird, so I need to know if I should put to all or just some to make it more irregular.

I placed color manually converting to half-tone dots. I'm not sure if the design needs a zoom shot, if yes, does it work placing a link in the thread for those who want to see more?

Perhaps this sounds a bit cliche but I would like this design more if it had an older look. Maybe add some wear or more fading effects? I could just be that I dig those old classification notes and drawings found in old books. Good luck.

I like the design and color addition. I think the individual drawings could be smaller, and I don't think it will be printed with a design on the sleeve. Keep the drawings within the size specified and you will probably have a better chance at getting printed.
