Please consider my Barbeque Bum Fight design... not sure if the Flash file works properly, but it has 6 colors and a load of craziness. The idea was to make an oversize design with a Dr. Suess-like color pallette. What do you think????

id say lose the needle in the top left, but other than that it looks awesome.

This is freaking sweet. Maybe try some different colors? I feel like the pink and the green fight for attention. Other than that, this is awesome work.

Anything that could be considered even close to "adult" won't get printed. Drugs, violence, bums. You've got a tri-fecta of unprintability here.



I'm just trying to be up front and realistic with you because I don't think anyone else will. I actually do like your work here, so don't take this as a personal jab; you're talented. But look through every shirt printed and try to prove me wrong. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Threadless's voting system is ruled by kids... check out all the printed PB&J or Cupcakes or Unicorns or Cute Robots or Fuzzy Animals or On and On and On.



But don't let it get you down- just consider your audience and keep on subbing.

I do think OhDystopia has a point, violence doesn't seem to roll over very well here, even adult themes are avoided unless they are subtly hidden inside a really nice design. As far as your design, I like it, it's well done. The only thing I could really say is that it feels like it's floating to me, I couldn't really tell you what to do for a background, but seeing the three of them floating is a bit distracting. Otherwise good stuff!

If it doesn't fly here, the color scheme and artwork would be perfect for Designbyhumans

this is just awsome illustration! the way u color them i got no problem used this few colors in best way ad there action is just so energetic just with this guy with chicken were not looking at us maybe more into his food and he dont care or into them but if its too much to change forget its coool and ready to submit cool work! and good luck!

I guess the idea that threadless is less about adult themes makes sense... I will remove the needle and show placement, maybe tweek colors.



It's too late on this design to remove the violence... I did want to make the characters look like they are floating, sure you don't like it?

I think it's goofy enough that with a little tweeking it can be redeemed in the eyes of the threadless crowd, and I personally like the 'Suessian' colors the way they are. Obviously I don't think you can just edit out the violence from a scene of three people smacking each other- that's more of a thought to carry into subsequent designs. Even if it doesn't end up a winner you can still take pride in this one and let the people have a chance to judge it- it's good stuff.

What do you think?

I am getting mixed messages here.

Lots of people forget to click Submit This or probably feel like if the design isn't finished that they should wait to click. There are definitely people who just click Do Not Submit a lot without saying anything. Don't let it get to you, because if they dislike your design that much, they probably wouldn't have anything helpful to contribute.

I really don't mind if others do it in my sub though. I just love other people's art and want to see as much as I can... we all in it together.

It isn't just about getting my word in, I really think people would like to see other people's art... guess not.

Yeah, don't take it the wrong way about the link posting. If you stay here long enough you'll understand.



Just see it like this, when I see a positive comment in one of my subs I think"Cool, he/she liked it". But when it's followed by a link it makes me wonder if they mean it or just said it to get me to their design. I don't say it's always the case but it happens a lot, that`s the reason wh I stopped leaving links long ago, even in the critique section, I want all my comments perceived as honest.

It's nicely done (linework-wise mostly), but honestly it doesn't look like something that would do well here, or any other tee site I know. I have a bunch of those myself, what I usually do is sub them here for fun and then move to something else.



It's up to you what to do.

Also, I've never been much of a fan of the clashing/basic coloring. I think you should work a color scheme that really works with the background color you're using, the kind that would only look good on said color, but damn good.



And I usually stay away from black outlines, they look to harsh most of the time.

Your color scheme is great. when I first saw it I wasn't completely buying it, but then after looking at it more, I really don't think you can do it any other way. Well done. It's a bit much for a shirt I would wear, but I'd get it as a poster no doubt. Maybe give each individual trucker a solo shirt? Get a series that finishes with this one?

...the colors were meant to be garish and obnoxious. I wanted to drown out the elements so that the design required a second look, but also give it that childrens book look.



Plus, going loud and big is something I love.

I just gotta laugh at the irony of threadless... I am almost convinced this design won't be chosen, or even get past approval. Because of content.



Is the content of this shirt too violent? Funny, considering the number of winning submissions that feature decapitation, limb removal, squirting blood and the subject of suicide.



Is it the name? If you have a problem with me exploiting bums, don't - I was among the ranks of the homeless for a few years and not for fun. I can laugh.



But I really don't think this design will EVER win because of the fear of green chicken...

...or the presence of human body hair.



...or yellow fingernails.

i definitely think this will be approved. threadless isn't stingy when it comes to violence.

I would possibly do the outline in a less drastic color, but they can change that easily enough (though for voting, it can get passed on)--the black outline and white limbs is kinda weird. That said, I think the blonde should have, for kicks, a glow of red under his mullet. Just because. (and make it subtle, though with this, you do have to pay attention to see anything but loud bright colors--not sure that's good or bad)...



One color detail that seems like a no-no=the green shirt/blue pants on one guy right beside green pants/blue suspenders of the other--the color blends together and I can't tell the shape very well--maybe the blue suspenders should go with yellow pants?



My main issue is just going to be the color thing. I think the only way to remedy it is put it on sand and let that be the skin tone. Otherwise, white ink in that quantity? Err, may as well use a color.

one more thing...



This is probably just the kind of shirt that would go over well at T-Shirt Hell :) They like wicked senses of humor.

Excellent work! Reminds me of something I might have come across in my old Mad Magazines...or possibly CARtoons!
