Which is the key that opened the lock?

You kind of have a male/female thing going on here. I'm not sure if you meant it that way, but I think it could be really funny if you pushed that idea more. Guys are always thinking about sex = keys are always thinking about unlocking locks.
A way to cultivate that idea would be to make the lock a lot more feminine. Give it big, flirty eyes with eyelashes. You're kind of already going in that direction with color and shape, but I think you could exaggerate the form of the lock similar to the way an acoustic guitar is a very feminine form. The keys themselves are a kind of phallic sexual thing already (plus it kind of looks like they have boners), so I don't think you need to push the masculinity of them. I would work on their expressions, though. Right now they look pissed-off instead of infatuated. I love the parallel of the unlocked lock being "nude" or something. I think the thought bubble would work a lot better if it were centered. It could also be a lot more fluffy, as could the little bubbles leading to it. It's hard to tell that the smaller bubbles are coming from the keys right now. As far as placement goes, I think it would be kind of funny to have the composition a lot lower so the lock was more towards the "lower" parts of the human anatomy. Really solid idea if it's what you intended (the title and comment leads me to think you might not have, sorry if you did). I'll be watching this design. |
